I may be wrong on this, but I understood that he was a devout Catholic and a good husband who stayed married to the same woman for 50+ years. Unlike some of his parts, he sounds like a good, upstanding guy.

You are not wrong. He was a devout Roman Catholic, married for more than 1/2 a century to Loretta Young's sister. He and the Young sisters were very active in the Church and all were outstanding role models in real life (villainous parts notwithstanding). He's home now and reunited with his beloved.

He married Georgiana Young, an actress, in 1944; they had four children. She was half-sister of the actresses Sally Blane, Polly Ann Young, and Loretta Young, who nicknamed her "Georgie". After 63 years of marriage, Georgiana Young de Montalbán died on November 13, 2007, at the age of 84.

The original KHAAAAAN. Before my time, but he was outstanding in "Star Trek II." I also enjoyed him in the first "Naked Gun" movie.

and his casket will be lined with fine corintian leather

Without any disrespect meant to the deceased, I am dying with laughter here. Nice one.
