No arrests have been made in the Saturday morning incident about five miles south of Waupaca, said Ted Dremel, a state Department of Natural Resources warden.
There's talk of closing all snowmobile trails in Waupaca County until the "rogue snowmobilers" are caught, he said.

disturbing.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Truth REALLY is stranger than fiction.
Nice job guys. Every hunter in the area will gladly see you arrested and prosecuted for messing with the local game. We value our land and wildlife, idiots.
And I hope it trashed your snowmobiles too.
As a person who used to ride Snowmobiles, I find it disgusting what these dopes did. It gives people who drives snowmobiles the right way a bad name.
A fawn in Jauary??Doubtful!

Yea, I think they just mis-used “fawn” for a yearling. My wife calls every young deer a fawn too until they look grown up. I gave up correcting her. Wimminz.
While it may not be Bambi, it’s entirely possible they were born within the past year, which would technically make them fawns. If it’s between one and two years old that would make it a yearling.
How horrible.
I do not know what the maximum punishment for this would be in Wisconsin, but I hope they get it.
Here in NZ I believe they could be made to forfeit their snowmobiles, in addition to whatever other punitive measures are taken.
Disgusting. Hope they catch these clowns.
These guys are not bad people, they are just ahead of the curve.
:-)
A fawn is a deer thats still nursing, once weaned it is no longer a fawn!
I dunno, something stinks here. When a car hits a deer (even at a low speed), there’s MAJOR damage on the vehicle. So these skidoos are somehow SUV-tolerant?
How do you punish idiots like that?I may be a little extreme, but i’d round up the guilty parties, chase em around with snowmobiles until they’re utterly exhausted,then......

Dremel is an idiot. No cowboy, true to the word, would treat any animal like this. Describe it as it should be described. This was a thrill-kill.
And furthermore, I would like to see anyone try and round up a herd of deer and run them over using anytype of vehicle. This article does not sound right.
Put them in the woods and let loose a bunch of hunters on snowmobiles.
They describe the tracks and damage done by equipment. They also mentioned there was a rope used to tie one deer to a tree.
I agree with you, something isn't being told. Deer usually scatter at the noise. Maybe they had been around the trails enough that the noise no longer spooked them. Maybe the snowmobilers were able to encircle a few that didn't run off.
