.................................................................................Set in Washington, DC, "Day 7" opens four years after Season Six with CTU dismantled and JACK BAUER on trial. Bauer's day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA returns. Meanwhile, newly elected President ALLISON TAYLOR leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR.
A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including JANIS GOLD, RENEE WALKER, LARRY MOSS and SEAN HILLINGER. Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O'BRIAN and BILL BUCHANAN are back for another momentous day of shocking events.

You can't just pick any two planes, point them in a direction and watch them crash into each other. It'd be like shooting two bullets in an intersecting pattern and just assuming that they would hit the cross point at the same exact time.
Plus, presumably, these planes have pilots who might raise objections to barreling their plane into another plane, just because some flight computer told them to.
And another thing, why the hell did they just murder the hottest girl on the show?!?! Freckles is pretty nice too, but the dead chick was smoking before she was bleeding.

Bill and Chloe arrived at the ditch to save Freckles. How were they tipped? If they told us, I missed it. Jack or Tony had to contact them.
They dug her out and brought her back to consciousness. Told her she can’t tell the FBI she’s OK because there’s a mole and it would reveal Jack’s role.
Jack and Tony arrived at the hangar with Emerson, who tried to kill Jack. Tony shot Emerson and was traumatized over killing his “brother”. Jack and Tony had to
carry off handing Matobo over to the bad guys in exchange for diamonds. Jack informs the Matobos about the plan and convinces them to join them.
Chloe and Bill arrive to help set it up.
Bad guys arrived and tried to kill Tony. Jack killed the bad guys...all but the ones who could take Matobo and wife to Dubaku.
Meanwhile, Dubaku is directing planes into each other’s paths.
I think that catches you up. If you missed the part where the president met with her cabinet...well, you didn’t miss much. It was painful to watch.
