While attending graduate school at SMU i was fortunate to have a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader as a class mate. She was gorgeous and a Deans List Scholar. Brains and Beauty! Can’t beat that!

As a kid, I spent every summer at my cousins' house in Casa View in East Dallas. Texie Waterman's School of Dance, where the Cowboys Cheerleaders trained, was located in a shopping center adjacent to the Casa View branch library where we hung out on hot days. I remember spending many a fine summer afternoon at the library, then walking over to the Cremona Delicatessen for a sandwich, followed by a leisurely stroll past the big plate glass window at Texie Waterman's studio.

Ah, Dallas in the 1970s. The library is still there, but the Cremona Deli and Texie Waterman's are long gone, as is my youth. Je me souviens...
