Patrick Swayze checked himself into the hospital this morning suffering from a bout of pneumonia, which is said to be a complication of chemotherapy treatments for his pancreatic cancer.
Swayze appeared on television this week, giving an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters about his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Swayze was scheduled to join his fellow co-star and producers in presenting A&E's new drama The Beast to critics, which he stars in. After realizing he would be too ill to make it, according to A&E reps, Patrick asked that the show go on and that they pass along a message from him about how "unbelievably proud" he is of the work they've done so far on the show.
"You can bet that I'm going through Hell," Swayze recently told Walters. "And I've only seen the beginning of it. There's a lot of fear here. There's a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm asking, 'Why me?'"
One of my favorites of his, just watched it again this past weekend along with one I had never seen before... something about Black Dog...
People Magazine gave it excellent reviews...
I’ll post it.
I'm always amazed at how much money was spent on AIDS, and how far science came with that. Steve Jobs of APPLE, apparently also has Pancreatic Cancer. I'd like to see people like Steve Jobs, George Soros and people in Hollywood with huge fortunes spend their money on research.
Also just announced Ricardo Montabalm died... I hate this because I do belive these things come in threes.
In late December - soon after taping his recently broadcast “20/20” interview with Barbara Walters - Swayze, 56, underwent a secret cancer operation to bypass a deadly stomach blockage, sources tell The ENQUIRER. Sadly, his condition continued to deteriorate.
Swayze, 56, was hospitalized in early January for what his reps say was pneumonia. It was also around this time that it was discovered the beloved star’s pancreatic cancer had reached his lungs, where it is interfering with his breathing.
Leading specialists consulted by The ENQUIRER describe that as a “very bad” sign - and an eyewitness who saw the star one day before his most recent hospitalization told The ENQUIRER: “Patrick has never looked worse. I’ve seen him many, many times, but this is by far the sickest he’s been - the guy was in obvious pain.”
Dr. Herman Kattlove, a former spokesman for the American Cancer Society (ACS), told The ENQUIRER: “What may have appeared to be pneumonia was most likely cancer that spread to the lymphatic system and the lungs. Even with another round of chemotherapy, he has less than a 10 percent chance of recovering.”
Sent to me so I don’t have the exact link, but you can see the author. :(
After that was released patrick made a statement.
Said nothing about it spreading, that it was just an infection in his lungs and it is almost cleared up.
Will look for links. I pray this is true.
I do too... I just have this terrible feeling... especially since his mother is there, I believe she lives in Texas still... and if she is there I take that as a bad sign.

Patrick Swayze is "almost" clear of pneumonia.
The Dirty Dancing star, 56, who is currently battling stage-four pancreatic cancer, checked himself into a hospital last Friday after being unable to shake a persistent cough.
But he isn't at death's door.
"I am alive and plan on continuing to stay that way," Swayze tells People magazine in its new issue.
"It made me suspect there was a possibility of some kind of infection," the actor added. "I wanted to jump on it before it turned into a problem. As soon as I got home, I called my doctor and then went straight to the hospital and was immediately put on antibiotics. I'm almost in the clear."
In a ABC recent primetime special, Swayze denied claims that he was on his deathbed but said he may have only two years to live.
"I'd say five years is pretty wishful thinking," he told Barbara Walters. "Two years seems likely if you're going to believe statistics.
"I want to last until they find a cure, which means I'd better get a fire under it."
