We've reached the final game of the college football season. I know that we've had some arguments regarding who really should be the national champion (and due to my own bias I've tried to stay away from it). But anyway, somebody decided #'s 1 and 2 for this game a long time ago and here they are.

The BCS National Championship Game: Florida vs. Oklahoma (8:00 pm, FOX) The last two Heisman trophy winners take to the turf for the waterford crystal shaped football from Sears (or at least it used to be from Sears). Leading up to this game, we've heard about who really should be the top ranked team and I'll say this. One, possibly both of these two teams can end any argument tonight. We know the offensive playmakers by now. Tim Tebow. Sam Bradford. Jermaine Gresham. Lewis Murphy. Juaquin Iglesias. But will the defenses even matter tonight?
That’s kind of why I quantified that by saying it’s a BCS national title.
At this moment, I’m trying to find out when the AP final poll will come out...
I so have to get that sign.
I think it comes out about midday tomorrow.
i would think your Utes finish 2nd, and USC finishes 3rd.
I don’t think they will. They will penalize Utah for being in an easier conference. Not saying it’s fair but it would surprise me a little. The old days of the AP/UPI wars of naming a champ have been over for awhile. They need a system where this scenario is played out. Utah had a great season.
Perfect sign to chase the Obamadrones away.
I’d love to see UF and Utah go 1 and 2. That means Urban Meyer played a large role in the two best teams in the country.
Congratulations Florida. Great game. Thanks for representing the SEC so well. War Eagle!
Florida, our alma mater, thy glorious name we praise
All the loyal sons and daughters, a joyous song shall raise
Where palm and pine are blowing, where southern seas are flowing
Shine forth thy noble gothic walls, thy lovely vine-clad halls.
‘Neith the orange and blue VICTORIOUS, our love shall never fail
There’s no other name so GLORIOUS, ALL HAIL, FLORIDA HAIL!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the work you’ve done! It’s been fun. Until the season starts again this fall.....Hook ‘em Horns!!
I’m happy the Gators won. But they need a playoff. This six week layoff is crap and is detrimental to the game.
Thanks for another great year of college football threads. If we have to share the title, let it be with Utah. I can live with that.
Unfortunately big money has agreed on this system. A playoff system is highly criticized by educators and I understand it. Urban Meyer is a great coach and Tebow is one heck of a QB. I enjoyed the fact that he had JOHN 3:16 on his eye black.

Thank you, we were in serious Mick Hubert withdrawals ; p and sadly, even with all the links, we still could not hear one, “OH!MY!”. Maybe THAT is one of the reasons it was such a tough game ; }
Seriously, those Sooners played some serious defense tonight, and have a lot to be proud of, because that felt like one of the longest games of our lives, lol.
Go Gators!
Watch out for Ole Miss next year. It took them a few games to get consistent with Houston Nutt, but they probably were really the second best team in the SEC by the end of the year.

Nice work. It’s almost structured like the NFL playoffs only w/o AFC and NFC conferences.
How about 1 and 2 in the final AP Poll?
