Yeah, people and their “need” for more and more land are not a part of the problem. Give me a break.

When there are fires or extremely bad weather, all the animals go to lower elevations and/or human populations because the pickings are better there.

But the problem is more likely to be people encroaching on their territorial home. I see it here in PA and it is no different elsewhere.

I hope the housing debacle slows it down, as open spaces, and the wildlife which live in them, are a great part of what make this country great.
