Ping to First Sunday Music!

Publius and others have suggested posting Baroque music by musicians playing original, or authentic, instruments.

I found two recordings that I enjoyed very much.

I hope all of you do as well. Happy New Year!

I have been listening to music while I have been posting and just as I got to this posting of yours the second movement, “Et in terra pax” began to play on the sound system. What a boost on a day when there has been anything but “pax” in “terra”. While life can oft times be hard, Vivaldi’s music always gives me a glimpse of Heaven. And I look forward to meeting the Maestro there. By all means add me to your list. Gratia.

The 4 seasons are better than the 4 horsemen of atheism. Militant atheists have no humility and are (when not horsing around) the conductor's baton rather than the symphony — they are time keepers until they run out of time. They see the symphony existing solely for them as they mark out time. And, yes, the horsemen/time keepers gallop forward ever sure of the past but know nothing about the timeless future.

Love the music! Thank you.

Can I get on your ping list?

My highschool age daughter has been listening to Libera. (A modern day's version of the Vienna Boy's Choir.) It's delightful to hear that coming from her room. A change from the Jonas Brothers.

All the best.

LOL... A boy band for teens. They actually have a wonderful message for the young kids about celibacy before marriage and a shared Christian faith.

A nice change of pace.
