I was at the Apple store in Manhattan (near Central Park) - it was a madhouse...

Apple has brought fun back to computing - it reminds me of the days of the Atari 800 and Commodore 64, except that now it’s “normal” people and not just us tech heads who are enjoying the fun..

I don’t think I’d ever see as many people at a Gateway store or Dell Kiosk as I saw at the Apple store today..

I use Windows and Windows tools (C#, .NET, etc) for a living, but when I buy my next computer for home use, it will be an Apple..

This is surely the domestic US Market.

In the Asian markets Microsoft is lagging, while Gates and Co, can get US rags like Fortune magazine to claim windows has 90 percent market share in china - Chinese sources paint a view of more like 30 to 55 percent for windows.

With their troubles with the public's shunning of Vista, Microsoft has more to worry about than just Apple.

On the horizon is the new Android OS by Google, which is now out on the G1 mobile phone, with more phones slated to be released with the OS this year.

Some techies managed to successfully get the Android OS up and running on a netbook in just 4 hours. Shades of the future, perhaps? ... FR thread with story here.

I’d buy an Apple notebook PC but only if its a highly capable gaming PC.Otherwise I’ll stick with my Dell 1710 XPS gaming notebook.
