Where I come from (Texas) this is how an order is placed:

What would you like to drink?
Coke.
What kind?
Dr. Pepper.

I was born in California, (but parents/grandparents were from Oklahoma/Kansas native American stock) and Dr. Pepper was just plain disgusting. Just give me unsweetened tea with a slice of lemon and I'm happy.

Can you imagine HOT Dr Pepper? It’s a TX thing. My mother-in- law loves it, serves it for Christmas.

You think that's disgusting? When I was a kid we put peanuts in our Coke.

Drank 1/4 of the way down and then dumped peanuts in the glass bottle. Loved it then. But now, I'm with you on the tea. Sweet tea that is!
