Ed Hale of Plains Radio has secured a copy of the Dunham/Obama divorce decree as promised. He has registered this at the courthouse and has turned the document over to lawyers who are reported to be happy and enthused over the contents.
This is the first page. This is all that can be divulged at this time as those who have seen the decree are sworn to silence. You may hear information about it tonight on Ed's plainsradio show.
That amazes me too! So many questions about this guy.
But the MSM sure did want to tell us about Joe the Plumber and Bristol Palin.
The rumor about Chester Arthur’s birthplace has persisted for a great many years because at one point his parents did live in Quebec. Arthur destroyed any paperwork which would point to where he was born, what his exact birthdate was and his father’s naturalization paperwork. The father’s paperwork was recently located which indicated he did not become a naturalized American citizen until Arthur was 14 years old.

Sorry, British Common Law does not trump US law, specifically Title 8 which defines what a US Citizen is. He may have inherited dual citizenship due to this, but it doesn’t override US Citizenship if he meets the requirements under Title 8.

As far as the “why,” to me the fancy address speaks to simple pride and vanity, which leads me to think that the grandparents were somehow involved.

Very true, it’s entirely possible. But, no one could *prove it* and that was the same problem they had back then, too.
So, taking a “lesson from history” — what kinds of problems did Arthur have with signing legislation? Any? Did a law enforcement/sheriff/marshall try to escort him out of the Presidential office? Did the Supreme Court try to remove him? Was there an impeachment of him? Did other foreign governments blackmail him? Was the Constitutional requirement for office *forever altered* never to be respected again?
History will provide you that answer...

William Arthur was from Ireland and he came to Quebec to a place called Dunham, not far from the American border. He farmed there and then moved to Fairfield, Vermont, possibly because his wife was an American. His son was Chester and he was born in Vermont. The 1870 American census clearly shows William Arthur born in Ireland.
Enemies of Chester Arthur who was Vice President to President Garfield, tried their darndest to disqualify him on the grounds he was born in Canada. The fact of his father was also brought up. Arthur said his father was given American citizenship in 1843, and this was sufficient. In 1883, Garfield was assassinated and Arthur took office. He was so unpopular, the Pubbies would not even nominate him in the next Presidential race.
Excuse the screed, but I just love history and research.
I just saw they do offer flights from Scotland to Vancouver with a stop in Calgary. That would make sense.
From I have just tried to learn, they only started doing commercial polar flights late last century.
