Oklahoma Legislator Introduces Bill to Require Candidates to Submit Birth Certificate
Ballot Access News ^ | January 1, 2009 | Richard Winger

Posted on 01/01/2009 12:35:33 PM PST by CalifScreaming

Oklahoma Representative Mike Ritze (R-Broken Arrow) has pre-filed a bill, requiring candidates for public office to submit a copy of their Birth Certificates. Ritze is a professor of Forensic Science and a physician, and was just elected to his first term in the legislature in November 2008. Ritze introduced his bill because he does not believe that President-Elect Barack Obama has demonstrated that he meets the constitutional qualifications.

Ritze also says that he is trying to persuade U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe to object to counting electoral college votes for Obama, when Congress counts the electoral votes on January 8.

The Oklahoma legislature does not convene until February. Oklahoma legislators are free to pre-file bills, but the Oklahoma legislature’s web page does not yet have the text of pre-filed bills, so the text of Ritze’s bill is not available. Since presidential nominees of qualified parties do not actually file for the November ballot in any state, it is not clear how Ritze’s bill can accomplish its objective, relative to general election presidential nominees of qualified parties.

We must be persistent on following this CON-MAN on every move he makes. KING HUSSEIN COBRAMA has yet to answer one question about himself and WE must do the work of the media. We have 3 years to untangle all the knots for eligibility. I think we can get it done in Red States and use the initiative process in the remaining states. The media has mentioned Mr. Atheist Michael Newdow attempts in blocking reference to God in the inauguration speech but wont say a thing about COBRAMA's eligibility.

I’ve fallen in love with Oklahoma. They were the only state that voted red in every precinct in this election.

>We must be persistent on following this CON-MAN on every move he makes.<

You are barking up the wrong tree. It is NOT Obama who is the CON-MAN but those who support and protect him from having to identify himself who are at fault.

Direct your main attention not toward Obama but toward all the members of government, reps and craps alike, who do nothing to get this mess cleared up once and for all. The whole affair appears to be a conspiracy against the American people.

This country started with a bang heard around the world — it may just finish with a whine unnoticed by the world.

It would be great to see some states do this. It will make the 2012 election interesting if Obama chooses to run for a second term.

Not in La. Vitter Rhino, emailed me believing the Hawaiian govenor's statement, about a BC exists, as actual proof of natural born citizenship.

I'm pretty sure Bambi does have a BC. So what! It's the details on the BC that make the difference.

KING HUSSEIN OBAMA has traveled along for over 40 years and left nary a footprint. Doesn’t that scare anyone?

Unfortunately, Hussein will get away with no birth certificate. But we can dream.

All that’s needed is one state to do this, providing the rejection is made public and that they get a release form rather than the actual certificate from the candidate. I’d trust NOTHING a candidate provided directly and only accept a copy direct from the State Secretary or their designee.

Great bill.

Hope it passes.

It would be interesting if certain parties start dropping loads of cash to squash this.

Having watched the torturus pathway it takes for a piece of legislation to get through the Oklahoma legislature, I don’t think the bill will get out of committee. Even if it does, and gets passed....the liberal Democrat governor Brad Henry will veto it.

I would like to see my native state (I was a “natural born” Oklahoman - but lost my status when I moved to Missouri), where I was a resident for over 50 years, pass such legislation. However, I’m not holding my breath that it will.

Additionally, both Senators Inholfe and Coburn should lodge protests. I doubt either will.

Ahhh..., he must have been reading my posts where I’ve been *harping* on getting that kind of state law enacted.

But, many people here on Free Republic figured that my calls for such a state law were from being a “Obamite troll” to urge that kind of solution... LOL...

Finally..., a legislator that has the right idea!

“Eggssactly”... LOL..

I’ve pointed that out about Oklahoma. That legislator is only a few miles from me. And the fact that I’ve been pointing to *this very kind of solution* — has not endeared me with the rabid Obama-haters here on Free Republic. They’re sure that any calls for doing such a thing — must — come from some Obamite troll... :-)

It’s about time to see the “fresh air” of common sense prevail on a thread about getting Obama out of office. This is the most intelligent solution I can think of...

We have a nephew who just won his second term to the Oklahoma House. He’s very conservative! His name is Michael Thompson, and he lives in OKC. Look him up—he’s a great young guy.
