FRiends, today marks ten years that I have been on FreeRepublic. I want to say thank you to Jim Robinson for providing this site and for providing a forum for conservatives to bounce ideas off each other and to wax eloquently(or just plain wax ad nauseum)on the political issues of the day.

I want to say thank you to all of you for the insights and knowledge so freely shared here that enhances the understanding of a myriad of subjects every day, and which has helped me to make sense of the events of the last ten years.

Although many in the mainstream media have refused to give FreeRepublic its due, it is beyond question that this site has helped to shape political history in America in the last ten years. Those of us here know the score. I have met some of you over the last ten years, and I know the fine quality of the people on this site.

To any I may offended or been short with in my electronic ramblings, I offer my sincere apologies. To any of you that were enlightened by my posts in the last decade, I have no idea how that happened!

And to all of you, I wish a healthy, prosperous and joy filled New Year in 2009 for you and your loved ones.

Jim, my heartfelt thanks for creating this site and for allowing me to “play” here. You faced immense personal challenges in 2008 and I thank you for the sterling example of courage you provided for us in the midst of those challenges.

Actually, you just jogged my memory; I went right past my Freeperday without paying attention (Dec. 5, 1998). So I’m a decade of Freeper years old too. Happy Freeperday to us, Happy Freeperday to us, ... You realize this also makes us just plain 10 years older too (that’s the bad part).

Memory lane .... I was so scared back then .. I had no clue about so many things ... except I hated x42 and had discovered a whole houseful of articulate, loud, lovely, intelligent, arrogant, smart, dumb, beautifully ugly, tough, meek, nervous, brave, writers, chatters, Rushies (you know who you are), kind, offensive, active, passive people ....

just like me.
And if y'all didn't love me ... you tolerated me.
