First time I remember seeing him was as a recluse bookworm on Twilight Zone.

He didn't need anyone.

Just wanted to read his books.

Then the entire world got wiped out and only he and all the books were left.

Then he fell down and broke his reading glasses.

My favorite was as a small town doctor in "A Big Hand for the Little Lady." with Joanne Woodward, Jason Robards and Henry Fonda.
