Recently signed up with Netflix and I'm very pleased with the service. I do not have the blu ray option on my account but in regards to the movies I've requested the turnover is usually one to two days. It's very convenient.

BluRay, its called moving the target .........again.

hooray for Netflx for not chasing after another trend.....

I work in IT and its the same as software, updates just keep the software developers employed. Occasionally there are real
increases in software features, but not very often anymore.

Your not gonna see that big of a diff. going w/ BR. Just stick to the regular and forget the newest until the trend slows and its a lot more price friendly.

Once we got to Digital format, DVD (a big jump in quality),
the bluray was like.....jumping from windows95 to windows98.

taking your extra $1 a month and using it for whatever it wants

Well, it isn't YOUR $1 anymore since you gave it to them. So, they CAN do whatever they want with it. Just as you could have done anything YOU wanted to do with it. You chose to give it the them.

Well I have Hancock and The X-Files: I Want To Believe at home now on BluRay and NEITHER one will play on my machine. I have the newer firmware disk that I will load soon.

All of my other BluRay disk played with no problems. Hancock would load and not let me see the start menu. The X-Files let me watch the trailers, but again no menu to start the movie.

I bellieve this could also contribute to the delays. My player is the PAINFULLY SLOW LOADING Sony BDP-S300 that I picked up last December for $380.00 (ouch).

I am starting to watch more movies instantly on Netflix anyway and I'm contemplating hooking upo my tivo to broadband to downdload directly from Netflix).
