Take Back Barack ("Progressives" upset! lib vomit alert)
Boston Phoenix ^ | 12/17/08 | JEFF INGLIS + DEIRDRE FULTON

It's time to reclaim the man we put in the White House (snip) We voted for the Barack Obama we fantasized — the progressive miracle worker. We voted for Change. (snip)

And now, we have reason to worry that Change is not coming to America after all. For nearly two years we were encouraged to "Be the Change you want to see in America." It is now obvious that we have a ways to go toward Being that Change. And so does President-elect Barack Obama. And that, above all else, needs to Change.

It was not the Democratic base, nor the centrists, nor even the center-left, who put Obama where he is today. The progressive movement rose from near death and kept Obama alive in the primary, eventually proving stubborn enough to carry him to victory over the Establishment candidate. And then, in the general election, it was the progressives whose energy infected the nation, whose enthusiasm reminded longtime vote-the-ticket Dems that elections were about the future, and whose contributions, tiny as each individual one was, funded the revolution of Change that swept Obama into the Oval Office.

Progressives have a variety of objections, largely relating to flip-flops (warrantless wiretapping), climbdowns (withdrawal from Iraq and taxing the ultra-rich), and betrayals (keeping Bushies like Robert Gates and Michael Hayden anywhere near the halls of power). Many also object to a return of Clintonites, who while certainly Democrats, were hardly progressives in many areas.

“it was the progressives whose energy infected the nation,”

WOW this part of the statement actually was truthful. The socialist/communists are infecting this nation with a virus that will destroy what America was founded to be.

I’m quite sure more of those that voted for 0bama did it simply out of a knee-jerk anti-Bush reaction rather than knowing anything about him

That and, as I witnessed, college students who went for the cool factor voting for a "black" guy. And I watched to see if they were voting any other races/issues on the ballot. Nope, first screen touch for O, and forward to the end. Done.

Synopsis of the article: two useful idiots are of no more use to their master and, characteristically for idiots, are dismayed.

Progressives have a variety of objections

Yeah. Like life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

They voted for him because they want a Kodak moment. WOW, look...a black man is elected president!

This photo has already started to fade & turn yellow.

It’s about time these people woke up to their own stupidity, and realized they were living in fantasyland. If they want to blame somebody, they should look in the mirror. I won’t listen to any more of their whining.

Wow, so all throughout the campaign when I claimed he was a lying sonofabitch, I really wasn’t just being a racist?

Silly hippies. Face it, moonbats, you were used like a cheap whore at a media convention. And please try to shake off this idea that you own him. That was abolished in 1865.

The love affair is over. Useful idiots is a most apt description.

Exactly, WE weren’t fooled. I’m sure the progressive are
glad that that far-right wacko (in their minds!) John
McCain didn’t win, though! :)

>>that he had almost no accomplishments

if Barack
wasn’t black...

would he have won? Empty suit. Here in MA we have a situation
of Barack’s pal Deval Patrick (also black and definitely moonbat), who won in ‘06 under a
“Together We Can” motto (sound familiar?) Lately, there has been a move to greatly increase the tolls. Patrick (a Dem,
as you may have guessed) said that some people were cynical
about this, but “the cynical aren’t smart, they just pretend to be”. An anti-toll-hike group invited Patrick to
a Boston Tea Party “reject the pike hike” tea, but he
didn’t show up. An empty suit with a picture of him was
draped over a chair.
