Take Back Barack ("Progressives" upset! lib vomit alert)
Boston Phoenix ^ | 12/17/08 | JEFF INGLIS + DEIRDRE FULTON

It's time to reclaim the man we put in the White House (snip) We voted for the Barack Obama we fantasized — the progressive miracle worker. We voted for Change. (snip)

And now, we have reason to worry that Change is not coming to America after all. For nearly two years we were encouraged to "Be the Change you want to see in America." It is now obvious that we have a ways to go toward Being that Change. And so does President-elect Barack Obama. And that, above all else, needs to Change.

It was not the Democratic base, nor the centrists, nor even the center-left, who put Obama where he is today. The progressive movement rose from near death and kept Obama alive in the primary, eventually proving stubborn enough to carry him to victory over the Establishment candidate. And then, in the general election, it was the progressives whose energy infected the nation, whose enthusiasm reminded longtime vote-the-ticket Dems that elections were about the future, and whose contributions, tiny as each individual one was, funded the revolution of Change that swept Obama into the Oval Office.

Progressives have a variety of objections, largely relating to flip-flops (warrantless wiretapping), climbdowns (withdrawal from Iraq and taxing the ultra-rich), and betrayals (keeping Bushies like Robert Gates and Michael Hayden anywhere near the halls of power). Many also object to a return of Clintonites, who while certainly Democrats, were hardly progressives in many areas.

What a surprise--the Messiah was not as promised! And he, he lied about his views? About what "change" meant? Moonbats are shocked, shocked!

And from a separate blog on the same site:

>>I was - and still am - worried, as is progressive columnist Ted Rall, that the people Obama is surrounding himself with will change him, more than he will Change them. He's not picking progressives. And beyond that, he's picking Establishment people

Oh, you remember Ted Rall:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Rall

>>Three characters in another strip described Pat Tillman as an "idiot" a "sap" and a "hero" for abandoning his NFL career to enlist in the armed forces...His July 5, 2004, cartoon mocked Condoleezza Rice, depicting her character being sent to a "racial re-education camp" where she refers to herself as a "house nigga" and George W. Bush's "beard". Rall, a white man, was accused of racism by Project 21..Rall is listed at #15 in Bernard Goldberg's book 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America described by the author as a "vicious, conspiracy-minded, hate-filled jerk." Rall perceived the listing as an honor, replying, "Not only am I grouped with many people whom I admire for their achievements and patriotism, I'm being demonized by McCarthyite thugs I despise."

So, the "most liberal senator" isn't "progressive" enough for these folks? Or, he's "flip flopped"? (Yeah, like John Kerry didn't do THAT!)

This doesn’t need a barf alert. It’s very excellent for us to see and read these kinds of things. The DUmmies were DUPED by this punk, but we weren’t. LOL.

“Take back Barack”

Silly hippies. Face it, moonbats, you were used like a cheap whore at a media convention. And please try to shake off this idea that you own him. That was abolished in 1865.

They want to take back something that was never real. They knew Obama had taken almost no positions on issues, that he had almost no accomplishments beyond writing memoirs about his accomplishments, and that he had no public record not even from college. They can and will go back to their fantasy world, while we live with the Affirmative Action President they chose for us.

Wow, These people have actually bought into the whole Che Change. Opportunism and Chicago Thugs do not equal Collective Utopia.
All that rage they have worked up for the last eight years has to go somewhere.

"Be the Change you want to see in America."

America elected a motivational speaker, so why expect anything more than a feel-good-do-nothing Presidency?

At best, the next four years will be filled with flowery prose and poetic possibilities, but nothing much will be accomplished.

At worst, he may try to implement some of the ideas that were bandied about during the campaign.

I’m glad to read this. The libs actually DO get it, no matter how they try to rationalize it in print—they were sold a bill of goods.

Just wait. This is a ruse. 0bama is just as progressive as they think is he's just so much smarter than they will ever be. He will incrementally give them the progressiveness they want.

I like how they put use the word Change with the uppercase C. Not only is Change now a proper noun they want to claim ownership of it too.
Then again, this is often how liberals affect Change, by resorting to silly little motifs. At least they've realized that waving a magical wand at a problem doesn't really Change it.

I looked in on DU yesterday. Rick Warren giving the invocation on Jan. 20th has them quite po’d. He’s a “homophobe” and pro-life, so they’re not happy at all. They’re trying to organize a display of contempt by having everyone stand up and turn their backs to him during his prayer. (Bring on the popcorn!!!)

Naivite, thy name is “the progressives.” 0 is a Chicago politician, and they expected him to keep his promises.

No. It was the Obama fraud machine stealing votes in the caucus states which gave him the momentum to eke out a narrow victory over the Establishment candidate.

“It’s time to reclaim the man we put in the White House (snip”

HE’S NOT EVEN IN THE DAMN WHITE HOUSE!!!

I swear to god, the media somehow decided to collectively ignore bush halfway through Bush’s second term and focus on the ‘08 election. you would think that barack has been president for months now with the kind of coverage that’s been going on.

“America elected a motivational speaker, so why expect anything more than a feel-good-do-nothing Presidency?”

So very true. Unfortunately, an empty suit like Odumbo can — by his inexperience and naivete — bring untold damage to the United States and its interests. I hope there are some adults left in Washington who can put the man-child in the corner when he gets out of hand.

What these children don't realize is that "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss" has replaced "E pluribus unium" as the national motto.

So they are surprised that the least-vetted candidate in history wasn’t what they thought?

I’m quite sure more of those that voted for 0bama did it simply out of a knee-jerk anti-Bush reaction rather than knowing anything about him. The first concern for any voter is “will the promises be kept after the election?”. Good luck with that, they are now finding out that rather than being a 100% free agent 0bama is more like a 5% free agent.

I hope my wife is right that 0bama’s vanity will prevent him from being too bad of a President - he’ll want to leave a favorable “historical record” as the (true) first Black President.
