We missed your beautiful photos.

This is exceptional, truly a Golden Pond.

LOL

Been there. 30 + years ago. Loved the fort and those were the first live gators I’d ever seen. Farm kid from Ohio.

Must have been a whole flock of angels watchin over me—sounds like another one was hovering over you.

Coachwhip?! Laughing here and I don’t even know why. :)

If a Coachwhip had venom the cobras would hang their heads in shame, Coachwhips are emotionally unstable, when they get upset, whoopee! You can get bit 10 times before you see the head move. I have cousins who farm near Waco, Oh.

Figured it was something like that! LOL

Closer to Dayton for me—about an hour south of there, around Seaman. Seems like lots of people from Ohio move south. Glad we did.

I’m pretty sure the one in the photo is a snowy egret. They are smaller than the great, closer to the ibis.

We had lots of alligators in the swamps and bayous south of Houston. I used to send my Labrador retriever ahead of me when I traipsed through the tall grass near the water. I would have felt horrible if anything had happened to him, but better to him than to me.

Great picture!

Put me on your ping list please...

My New Year's resolution for 2008 was to take a picture every day for the entire year and post it on my website. I don't always get the pictures up the day I take them but I have been able to keep up my resolution.

Most of the pictures are outdoor shots near our home in West Virgina but there are quite a few of our son who was born in Feb. With my hour commute to work each way and the short days since daylight savings it has been tough to get good outdoor shots in December.

I think the last real good nature shots were a sunrise on December 8th:
