Police Come Across Fogged Up SUV On Elementary School Grounds In Baldwin; Residents Shocked, Horrified
BALDWIN, N.Y. (CBS) ― A prominent PTA official is facing some serious allegations involving a teenage boy.
Police arrested Joan Tuckruskye after allegedly finding her in the backseat of a parked car with a 13-year-old boy on Friday night. Both of them, police said, were partially unclothed.
"I feel devastated for the victim," said "Steve," the suspect's neighbor.
His son attends school with both the alleged victim and suspect's daughter, and is outraged over charges that Tuckruskye, vice president in charge of fundraising for the school, endangered the welfare of a 13-year-old boy.
"I'm shocked because she has children. Yes, she has children," he said.
"I've known them for 22 years. My children are friends with hers. I feel sick," added "Lisa," another neighbor of the suspect.
It was in the rear of the elementary school parking lot where patrolling officers said they noticed the foggy and steamed windows of an SUV. They approached and knocked on the window.
"They observed a woman in her 40s and a boy who appeared to be a teenager. They were not clothed from the waist down," said Lt. Kevin Smith of the Nassau County Police Department.
At first, police said, the boy said he was 18. Later at the hospital, though, he admitted being 13 but claimed he and the PTA mom were only kissing.
The Baldwin School District issued a statement, saying the District "is cooperating fully...and is working to maintain a normal and calm school environment for all students while police investigate."
The investigation is ongoing. If it's determined that a sexual act took place, charges could be upgraded from a misdemeanor to a felony.
Police said the woman told investigators that she and the boy were kissing (neither one had on pants). The boy, police said, initially said he was 18 years old.
Tuckruskye, a mother of three, is in charge of fundraising for the Baldwin Middle School PTA.
Double Guilty. You know these women are pretty woofish.
Not wolfish. Woofish, as in woof, woof.
But no matter how messed up they are, 13 is way beyond the pale.
It makes me sick as a mom of boys that there are these CREEPS out there preying on a young pubescent kid. This is not funny. These teachers and mothers should get long jail sentences. It doesn't matter whether it's a gay man or a straight woman. These people are child abusers and I kind of wish we had the death penalty for them.

I’m dubious about people who don’t like catz :-). Our cats just aren’t very friendly.
Death penalty is a little strong, I think, for activities that are practically, if not legally, consensual ... but I like the idea of jail time and a whopping fine.
I never understood this whole ditch the spouse thing... and in my case, it was that I chose badly. The ex made a great girlfriend, and a lousy wife. The reverse is also true, guys who make great boyfriends usually make lousy husbands.
I’d almost be willing to bet that the woman in this story has an ex who was a lousy husband, probably a hound-dog type, married young and now is trying to recapture what she views as a lost youth.
As an older man who found himself single not by choice, the pool of available candidates expanded considerably from when I was in my 20’s. At 38, +10 to -20 broadened the pool significantly. At age 25 it’s +7 to -7. Obviously, the top and the bottom are not always attainable, but the outliers are part of the pool.
Now for a woman, I would imagine that the pool is significantly, smaller. + 15 to -5 (?) would narrow things to a point that would make it more difficult to re-live missed opportunities.
But a 13 year old? For a man, it would make him a pedophile, and for this....woman? Why is she not a pedophile? I think that this incident swerves, into that field of buckwheat.
She is a pedophile. And if it was my son, she’d think jail was the better option.
I was thinking that she looked strangely like Boromir.
