I don't know if they still do but in the 70s they used to have coyote eradication hunts every winter in Idaho from the air and killed thousands.

I’ve read that there are a number of states that still do that, CA used to be one of them. Unsure if they still are.

A good book is ‘Wolves of Alaska’ by Jim Rearden. Its a fictional plot built around the facts surrounding the wolf ‘debate’. Good book and an interesting read.
