Captain America (2011) teaser trailer: "I Still Believe" (excellent!)
I Still Believe ^ | I Still Believe

My grandparents came here, long ago, looking for a better life.
My Dad would tell me, always love this country.
Believe in it: in Life, Liberty, Hard Work.
He said: nothing Could Beat a Free People.
We could bounce back from anything
...if we believed.

-----

But times were tough.
Life was hard and getting harder.
Far Away, Thouands Were Dying.
We were all losing hope.

-----

Then the War Came...to Us.
I enlisted and was rejected.
Twice.

----

Dad got sick.
He told me something
the Night he died:
Never give up, Never give in.
Never stop fighting.
Always love your country.

-----

I loved my Dad.
Loved my country.
We were losing the War.
So I enlisted...again.

-----

And met an officer.
Who gave me a chance.
To Serve my Country.

---

They trained me.
Taught me.
Gave me new abilities.
And a mission.
They sent me to the front.
To fight.
To fight...
And to win.

-----

So I fought.
We all did.
So many lost.
So much at stake.

-----

Back home, people called me Steve.
Out here, on the front, they call me "The Captain."
I like to think of myself as just another American.
An American...who still believes.

-----

I Still Believe.

It’s a bit early for trailers, or fan trailers, but this one is intriguing. Hope the movie measures up. Country could use some inspiration.

Agreed. Looks good for now. As an avid comic book reader, Marvel has been leaning a bit left lately, especially with the X-men series. I’ll just wait for Justice League..

The idea of a Captain America movie gives me mixed emotions.

First, what if liberals produce it...much of Hollyweird is leftist. I shudder to think what their idea of Cap would be...I’ve read enough comics with liberal overtones to know what that would be like (Cap vs. the evil U.S. Government...again). I don’t want to see a Captain America that is gay, multicultural, a member of the UAW or has replaced the star on his shield with a picture of Che Guevara. Or Captain United Nations.

Second, the basic story of Cap -— a man who loved his country enough to risk his life just to gain the honor of serving it -— can a nation in which more than half voted for a charlatan who campaigned on greed and jealousy (wealth redistribution) identify with that?

One of the most boring teaser trailers of all time.

I hope the movie is good.

Looks like it. Like the music though.

"I shudder to think what their idea of Cap would be"

It will be Capt. America vs. evil American (or at least white, european)capitalist whose only interest beyond making evil money is destroying the planet, killing polar bears, believing in God and traditional marriage etc, etc etc.

What’s needed is to have Capt. America show up at Tea Party rallies. Any one have the costume that can attend or even make one for a future attendee?

Oh yeah! We need Capt. America to show up at Palin rallies! Would that be cool or what? Make sure he gets great face time standing next to the Palinator shaking her hand! Go Cappy!
