Maybe . . . maybe not.
This site is worth a revisit! Kitties Iris and Fern demolish a tree over several weeks. It’s hilarious!

I had a big Christmas tree when my black kitty was young. I decorated it, and lit it up. It was very pretty. I came home after being out shopping, and turned the lights on the tree. I was sitting on my recliner admiring my handiwork in decorating the beautiful tree. However, the more I stared at it, the more I realized something was weird about it. There was an ornament on it that didn’t look quite right. And it wasn’t, it was a cat’s head.
There, among all the other ornaments, staring out from the middle of the tree branches, was my black kitty’s furry head. All you could really see were two green eyes staring out from the branches. She was comfortably ensconced right in the middle of the tree branches, happy as a clam, or should I say as an ornament, and I hated to disturb her bliss. I was also afraid if I startled her, the whole tree would come tumbling down. So I tiptoed over, gently petted her on the top of her exposed head, and reached in for the middle part of her body and lifted her out from her perch.
Ever since I now use only tabletop trees. Luckily, they now have such lovely small decorated trees. Mine is in a white kind of grecian urn, with gold little decorative balls, and pinecones and white flowers and clear lights. I love it, and it is cat free. Although, I must say I truly did enjoy my “kitty” ornament in that tree years ago.
Entropy, thy name is cat.
If he waited until the eighth night it would really sting.
We’ve got brothers. Never seen 2 cats more utterly dependent on each other. They still call out for each other like small kittens would, even at a year and a half or so, and tend to sleep in a pile of stripes and paws.
Not to say it’s all lovey-dovey...they’re quite energetic about chasing, stalking, wrestling, and everything else you’d expect from a couple of young male kitties.
$5 on the cats please.
Always hang the tree from the ceiling with wire. It can’t fall over, even if the cat and dog start fighting in the tree.
It happens, our dog treed the cat and tried to chase after her. They made a mess, broke some ornaments, but the tree remained upright.
Just screw a big hook into a ceiling joist, then tie the tree in place with strong picture-hanging wire.
Yep! And in a tangle. We got ours from the vet, who said they just weren't doing well separated... would we give it a try together. Sheesh. I've never seen two such dependent cats... but only on each other. That's what is really so funny, because cats are so VERY independent. I've seen plenty of litter mates and NEVER any like these two... who are a male and female. They romp and run through the house like maniacs! I'm scared they are going to trip somebody with their shenanigans. As big a pain in the rump as they are, they are the neatest things I have ever seen! Our last indoor cat ... we had for 23 years. She was so polar opposite. My grand-kids think they are in wildcat heaven!
Laying your money along side mine!
OH my gosh! Those are enormous... cats??????! All that, with attitude!!
Please, tell me that they settle down some in time! After that “kitty” stuff winds down!
bump!
They’re still nuts at a year and a half or so. Sorry :-)
Hi...
I am absolutely in love with your cats!
do you breed? I have been looking and looking for such beautiful Maine Coons!! I would appreciate if you could let me know... if you don’t breed maybe you could refer to me the cattery from where you got your beauties?? thanks!!
So far so good with our tree this year. We left it up for a week - undecorated - hoping the novelty would wear off. Not sure that's going to work...I just know their apparent lack of interest is part of a master plan of destruction...
My cats (3) know better. Actually, that is the only thing they obey. Everything else is “their oyster”.
Kitty Ping to neat photos.
Thanks for the ping, after reading the Iran threat thread, I am ready for the kitties.
Purr Baby will enjoy them, she loves the computer screen, as long as things keep moving.
ping! ;-)
