ctrl-alt-del doesn’t drop it?? Maybe only a couple of times it hasn’t worked for hung programs, including Firefox (FF sometimes hangs for me if I am streaming or downloading).

No. Nothing works except a total system restart. NOTHING. Firefox 3.0 SUCKS.
