Chicago (AP) -- When it comes to her weight, Oprah Winfrey has always been straightforward. The talk show queen continues the honesty, saying in the January issue of "O" magazine out Tuesday that she now weighs 200 pounds and has "fallen off the wagon" when it comes to healthy living.

Way tooooooo much fried chicken wings, gravy biscuits, mashed taters, and diet cokes for the queen of fat!!!! I just love it when we go to a fast food type place. We usually get one of the salads with chicken on it, and we see some huge guy order two large, supersized burgers, supersized frys, and a diet coke. Just breaks me up too think he is keeping his weight down with the diet coke and forget the 4,000 calories he is eating with the supersized burger and frys.

Sorry but these surgical diets are just a symptom of our lazy undisciplined culture. The best way to lose weight is simply to burn more calories than you consume. No one ever failed to lose weight by burning more calories than they eat. It’s not popular because it takes discipline, and 21st century Americans can barely pronounce the word. It’s too much strain to actually not eat that donut, so let’s get the doctor to cut on us instead. No thanks.

Lap bands, gastric bypasses and partial gastrectomy (your procedure) are not the answer. Duodenal switch (partial gastrectomy) is the worst of the bunch with potentially catastrophic side effects due to vastly decreased ability to absorb vital nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Whatever you do, be sure to adhere strictly to the life-long list of supplements you must now take.

I am insulin resistant. If I eat the appropriate number of calories a day (1800) I will still gain weight, even with exercise. You need to take some health issues into consideration.
