Kucinich has said he believes there is "waste and abuse of public dollars" in the deal.
Now that's rich coming from him.

Please post with the actual title.
It should read, “Yanks, Mets want $450 million more”.

I have never heard a convincing argument about why the cities and states pay for statiums instead of the teams and the fans' ticket prices. If the fans had to pay the full ride for the stadium, the teams probably wouldn't demand quite as fancy of stadium.

To prevent duplication, please do not change the title. Thanks.

They should be able to come up with 450 million just by changing their rosters.

No sports team should get any tax money.

If there are two families in NYC that don't need more government funding, it's the Steinbrenners and the Wilpons - and I say that as a Mets fan.

Government finance isn't my area but aren't the Yankees and Mets going to pay the money back? While they will be getting a nice break, it is not like the teams are being given $450 million.
There are economic analyses which suggest that professional sports teams can economically benefit their communities. I would think that the Yankees would be right near the top of the list of professional sports franchises which have a positive economic halo.

Guess they need the extra cash to sign the new free agents.

Why the heck would/should NYC pay one red cent for either team? The Yanks & Mets aren’t going to leave New York, so let them fund whatever they can afford.
