I was a student a UCONN in 1973 and was on a committee that got Jean to come to Storrs. I got to take him to Huskies, an on-campus watering site. He ended up writing about me in an article in The Atlantic Monthly.

My sole claim to fame.

Oh, and did I mention that I once cooked ribs for Johnny Cash...?

Indeed. Right now I'm reading the book the movie is based on: "In God We Trust--All Others Pay Cash."

Shep was a terrific storyteller. His radio show on WOR during the '60s and '70s was great listening.
