Better shave before you go get your drivers license updated in Indiana. That picture on your Indiana driver's license will NOW be part of a pilot HOMELAND SECURITY program which will test face-recognition technology at three undisclosed branches during mid-November in Indianapolis, said Dennis Rosebrough, BMV communications director.
They say this program was designed to prevent residents from obtaining more than one driver's license or identification card or from stealing someone else's identity in order to sell it to the public. However, the applications of this program are much more broad and sweeping. How would you feel if the DMV was taking your finger print and running a background check on you every time you got a new drivers license. This is THE EXACT SAME THING. Only worse. Why? Because they can't track your finger prints with cameras but they can track your face.
"It's a nationwide issue," Rosebrough said Thursday. Why because it is a first step towards a national ID card and because then the government can track your movements when ever your face is recorded on a government monitored security camera.
The Department of Homeland Security and other law enforcement agencies use their own databases but would have access to this one if needed.
"Facial-recognition software will mean you can be tracked anywhere there are government cameras."
It also has been reported by some who were renewing at the BMV that when they scan your face for your new license you CANNOT have...
1. Glasses on 2. Facial Hair 3. or open your mouth.
