A Freeper's Observation; Radio Station Management Boneheadeness

HOWDY FREEPERS!!!!!

Today, I'm going to discuss with you a case of radio station management boneheadedness which took place earlier this week.

The story takes us to Palm Springs California which has been known as a place where people travel to on vacation.

It involved two well known radio talk hosts who had a local talk show which aired on a local radio station. The show dealt with local political and current issues.

This sotry broke earlier this week. Here is World net Daily's coverage of the story. Here is how the local newspaper covered the story.

Apparently what happened was a caller brought up a story from the local newspaper's webiste about a Palm Springs Councilwoman who was at a rally against Prop 8.

This councilwoman held the microphone as someone was reading a list of individauls and businesses that supported this proposition which was past by majority vote by California voters.

What the talk host pointed out was that the councilwoman was a defendent in a murder trial. My research on this subject showed that she was implicated but that actually it was her husband who implicated her. Here is the story on this ordeal from Time.

Now, here are my thoughts on this subject.

These talk hosts have been with the radio station for ten years. I've read some of the responses to this story on the local newspaper web site and these guys were nice decent people who have been doing some charity work for some of the local chraities in this area.

What they simply did here was point out the shady past that this councilwoman had when the issue of her was brought up. I'm not sure what the heck happened to cause the suits at the station to make such a boneheaded decision.

The vast majority of voters in California voted in support of Proposition 8. It's unfortunate that some people are unwilling to accept the fact that there is a majority consensus for this proposition.

And I have to tell you that to go and call for these businesses to be punished and try to destroy the economy of this community just becuase you don't like what they stood for is dumb, stupid and idiotic. Our economy is bad enough as it is becuase I guess that doesn't matter does it. We need a new world order and those who don't want to go along with it need to be punished.

Now I just have a few more words to say about this. First off, for the suits running these talkradio stations. In case it hasn't occured to anyone we're in a culture battle. And either you're on the side of the people or you're on the side of the local goverment bureaucacy. If you're not willing to take the side of the people in this battle then maybe you need to step aside and let those who are willing to run things. This kind of squeamishness on the part of radio station management is not going to get us anywhere but the community going to Hades.

And finally, for those running for public office on the local, state and National levels from the President of the United States all the way down to dog catcher, I would remind you that once you take this office your public life becomes everyone's business whether you like it or not. If you're not willing to be a good sport about it, if you're not willing to develop a thick skin about having your past exposed then maybe it's time to find another job.

The first amendment is not a license to go impede and interfere with someone's commerce or quality of life just becuase you don't like what he or she stands for. If you have a problem with that then maybe what you need to do is pack up and move somewhere to another country like China or Cuba where there is no tolerance for dissenting opinions.

It's a shame that this story ended up like it did. These two talk hosts from what I read were good decent people who were very much involved in their community through charitable work and activities. These talk hosts were on the air for ten years on the very same station

All I can say is heaven help this town of Palm Springs California in dealing with these unsavory elements becuase they certainly are going to need it.

Regards....

One more thing I want to point out is that this councilwoman was never accused of murder. She was accused of being an accomplice to murder and was acquitted of the charges.

Do we really not understand what is happening to this nation? Selfish, unaccountable, irresponsible, secularist are trying to take over. They fight because this is their life. They think there is a window of oppertunity because good decent men will not fight back...This is what you get when enough will fight back. This is what you get when enough do not hold up a standard.

There’s a reason Jim Rome, the sports talk guy, refers to station program directors as “monkeys”.
