I’ll chalk your reply up to your ignorance of Generals and their accomplishments!!
1)The General is,in fact,a man of honor who wished simply to serve his country. He could very well be going into this thing with the attitude "hey,I've gotta protect this country from this failed community organizer".And maybe not.
2)The General has blinders on regarding exactly who and what Hussein is and is,therefore, oblivious to the damage that could come to this country because he agreed to serve Hussein.
3)The General always has been...or,perhaps,has recently become....a piece of excrement. As is true of Murtha.
4)The General knows full well what Hussein is all about and will,perhaps...after a relatively short period...resign from his post after having issued a scathing send-down of Hussein and his policies.
5)He needs the "points" to boost his retirement paychecks.
And as for Gates...*he* was nominated so that Hussein could have a fall guy when Iraq starts to circle the bottom of the toilet. If *I* can see that I'm surprised that Gates can't.Oh well!
Thanks for the informative post. Now I understand.
The simple answer, General Jones is no Smedley Butler
>If the basic question here is..”is General Jones worthy of the title of United States Marine?”<
I’m thinking that if General Jones was anti New World Order he wouldn’t have the position that he is now. Nor would any of the senior staff of any of our military forces.
Get ready for a relaxing of our national sovereignty standards. The UN Charter is being lined up to take over where our Constitution used to reside.
I’m not an expert, but I will say i was surprised to hear that Jones was even on the list for consideration. I expected him to pick some Peter principle blowhard like Wes Clark or Merrill McPeak.
A good connection with the European military folks.
My pleasure — and thanks for reading all that.
Here is one reason for a Jones pick; he apparently has signed on to the homosexual agenda as regards lifting the “don’t ask don’t tell” law. I am sure there are others, but the Marine Corps has thus far had a low profile as regards their Flag Officer support of the sodomy lobby, aside from Jones. Good luck to Generals Pace, Mundy, Kelly, etc. in keeping the tide down.
