I’ve had people threaten me with lutefisk.
I did exactly what they asked, and darn quick, too!

I still love and keep in touch with our friends up there, though--in spite of their odd eating habits--LOL!
Fab Food Ping...
Lutfisk & lefse.....yummmmmmmm. If prepared properly and served with melted butter, it is actually pretty good. But eat it before it gets cold, and that’s a trick in itself.
I make lefse....we love lefse....and while some like it with sugar & cinnamon, I never do that. I don’t mind if others do it, but I prefer mine just plain with butter or with meat rolled up in it. Meat like, Norwegian meatballs, leftover turkey or chicken, and even breakfast sausage links.

(Due to one strategically placed naughty word, not safe for work or the easily offended.)
I’m part Finn, and not even I could stomach the stuff when Grandpa would bring it out of the dungeon—EW!!
Thankfully my church was full of mutts and Germans - instead of Lutefisk we had the most incredible sausage suppers. Whoever made the sausage had a secret recipe and it was very good with lots of mustard seed in it.
Then one year the local restaurant owners got together and convinced the politicians that they needed a new regulation in town that essentially prohibited churches from having such events, or made it such a pain in the rear to do the paperwork it accomplished the same end. They were upset because our old ladies and gents cooked better food than they could, I suppose.
My new church is full of Lutherans from Michigan who apparently can't cook and don't want to try, so the restaurant owners down here are not threatened. Can you believe they have BAKELESS bake sales?
I’d love to try it!
