I think one would have to be stretching to make that argument.
I don’t think any of their students will walk away with the assumption that it is “normal”.
But I think that they will know that should any of them make that same commitment, their role models (and all persons in authority are defacto role models for young people) have done so.
In the end, it’s their lives and their decision, and I respect that and am in no position to judge what works for them. I just find nothing particularly laudible about this.
