Utah put the kibosh on Boise St.’s BCS hopes when they beat BYU and went undefeated.
Sorry Broncs.
Boise State had a very good year but they play in a weak conference. They need to either move to another conference (Big 12) or schedule some bigger name schools on their non-conference schedule. That said the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma was one of the best 2 or 3 football games I have ever seen.
I wonder how long it will take for the Cotton Bowl to be invited to join the BCS? They will be moving to the Dallas Cowboys’ new billion dollar retractable roof stadium that can be configured to hold 100,000 fans for the 2010 Cotton Bowl. When that happens there would be two more at large slots for the BCS.
Ohio State will back into the National Cahmpionship picture. Go Bucks!
I have to disagree with you. With no less than the next President of the United States wanting a playoff the last thing the BCS commissioners want is a Congressional investigation on why every NCAA-sanctioned college sport except Division I FBS football has a true playoff system. Because ESPN will take over broadcasting the BCS bowls after the 2010 season you will see the change, since a real eight-team tournament will finally end most of the arguments (think about it--do you REALLY think anyone lower than BCS #8 ranking at the end of the regular season is championship worthy?) and could be a MASSIVE moneymaker for ESPN.
