Good news for those of us who have yet to buy a HDTV or in the market for a second or third set.

“Black Friday.”
That’s racist.

I'm waiting for a 50" 1080p for $1k.
The Sharp Aquos LC-46D64U (46", 1080p, 16:9) for $999.99 is close, but four inches shy of my target.

The cheaper the TV the better, right??
(After all, how else to get all the propaganda to the masses, as well as the circuses ( i.e. sports) necessary to keep them quiescent and pacified while we steal the country blind.)

Great news. As soon as I get my ‘obama check’ (hope & change baby!!), I can pick up one of these necessities so I can watch and listen to the talking heads in the media (in HD, no less)tell me how great the messiah is over the next 4 years.

Wal-Mart will have 50” plasmas for something like $798. I think they are Samsung’s, 720p. They may be limited to 2 0r 3 per store.

Thanks for the heads up, but 1080p or nothing. :)
At this rate, I may have to hold out for Quad HD.

Yep! I will wait 6 years for the 2160p Quads to come out and then another 6 years from them to come down to a price I can afford.
In the mean time I am content with my Panasonic 50" - 720p.

The KIA dealership in this area is giving away 32” LCD TV, if you buy a KIA.

According to Consumer Reports, the BEST LCD HDTVs sizes 40” and up are ALL Samsung. They even have a 55” model.
As far as plasma tvs go, their #1 is 58” is also a Samsung, 50” is Samsung, 46” and 42” are Panasonics.
FWIW.

(After all, how else to get all the propaganda to the masses, as well as the circuses ( i.e. sports) necessary to keep them quiescent and pacified while we steal the country blind.) Most of the population is immune from propaganda most of the time because of TV.
They are immune because they choose to never see a news broadcast and never read a news paper or news magazine.
They are much too involved with entertainment; sports, movies, soaps or whatever.
Ignorance and apathy are much more dangerous than propaganda.
At least with propaganda some elements of truth are reaching the people and there is a chance that the whole truth can be known. Some amount of truth must be salted in with the lie. That seed of truth planted in the lie can germinate if it falls in fertile ground.
With willful ignorance and apathy the people can never know how they are being led in to tyranny until the chains of oppression are already upon them.

Yep.
My brother and I are splitting cost on a 32" Westinghouse LCD with
on-board DVD player.
I think he got it for about $589 (at Wal Mart?).
Our dear old Mother is going to finally get that flat screen she's
longed for (even when one would have cost $5000!).
