That’s not the point. Everybody knows that people go to the bathroom; should a politician record a TV interview in front on an open Porta-Potty?
there was no blood or guts or anything gruesome about the video....it looked kinda funny if you didn’t know what was happening. Besides, video games and movies and what’s on television is much much much more graphic in every sense of the word 24/7. Killing turkey should be a no-problemo for most people these days.
Touche. Still, this is a social condition that we Americans have come to. Reality seems grotesque and obscene in spite of itself. Utopia is easier when wrapped in political correctness (not sure that's a word).
A normal person should shake their head with a grin and think, that could have been done better. Drop it, maybe have some fun with it, then move on.
We eat unfertilized and undeveloped chicken babies for breakfast. Most call them eggs. We eat pigs, cows,..... Our media uses images, words and dialog to shape social opinion every day. As humans, at least, and Americans at most, we should be a little more immune to reality in everything from war to how food ends up in your freezer.
Please don't confuse my thoughts with faked reality on TV. Jerry Springer is not everyday reality but American's flock to this very non-PC entertainment. I believe many do not understand that these shows represent exceptions, not norms.
We are devolving socially at a rapid pace. Somewhere in the last 50 years, we collectively decided that it was wrong for people to be offended, regardless of what their offensive level of tolerance is. Now we seem to attack anyone who is accused of being offensive and censor ourselves in pursuit of appeasing everyone.
There is no fur allowed in the T-Giving Macy's parade this year. Why? Some one gets offended at the thought of an animal being processed for meat and skin. This is what I am talking about. Folks who get offended should be shamed in the media and by fellow citizens at this level.
No, the point is that Palin had no idea what was happening but both the reporter and cameraman did. It was another media created controversy.
Turkey farm standups are a traditional part of the TV “news” this time of year, and sometimes bad things happen in the background because somebody wasn’t paying attention. There weren’t any headless corpses running around, not a big deal.
BS on your part. If you get caught with your pants down, you say Excuse ME! and close the door. BFD! Where the hell do people think meat comes from? Let me say this again (and as a city guy who ISN’T a metrosexual wuss), people better wake up. 3% of the people make the food for the other 97% of us. Better treat them with some respect or starve.
You’re comparing food preparation to excretory functions?? That’s really weird.
