My brother has a 31 year old downs son and I honestly don’t know how he did/does it. If it was my child, I’d find it in me to do what’s best for the child, but it is a hard row to hoe.

My sister, who’ll be 42 on Pearl Harbor Day, has DS. Yes, it’s difficult; sometimes it’s heartbreaking; but every day, I can’t imagine life without her. They are so lovable and accepting of you, you can’t help but love them back. At least, that’s what I’ve found.

They are so lovable and accepting of you, you cant help but love them back. That is the absolute truth. I have sometimes wished my life was as simple as his, where everything is good.

Oh good! Thank you! Great article... my friend has a new nephew who has DS, and the family is pretty solidly conservative and well-situated, but I figure any boost is welcome.

Just so you know, the article link in the title doesn’t work. The correct link is in Post #7.

My mother’s sister (my aunt) had Downs. We were so close in age, we were more like cousins. She truly was an angel on earth. My grandparents loved her completely, and everyone in the family doted on her.
