confidential witness ^ | 11-23-08 | dfu

Posted on 11/23/2008 4:39:23 PM PST by doug from upland

I received today via email, the scan of a sworn declaration from a confidential witness. The hard copy will be in my possession in a few days. Neither the name nor sex of the witness will be revealed at this time. The witness is prepared to testify and should testify in the confirmation hearings of Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder.

A statement by the witness will be on YouTube in a few days with a voice that is disguised. The witness is willing to submit to a polygraph.

Senator Arlen Specter has indicated that confirmation hearings will involve a serious look at the pardon of Marc Rich. Denise Rich and several others who may have knowledge of the pardon fund must be called to testify.

Senator Arlen Specter is a spineless RINO egoist who should be drummed out of the GOP and into the DNC. He won’t do squat unless it can make a Republican look bad.

Doug, Does the witness have details as to just *how* the money was to be exchanged/transferred to the Clintons? I should think it must have taken place off-shore, say Luxumborg or the Cayman Islands. Now wouldn't THAT be something!?!?

The witness only knows what was said by Denise. I have been trying to verify that Bill Clinton went to Switzerland shortly after he left office. Can anyone find a way to verify that?

Was Denise telling the truth or just trying to impress the witness with whom she was trying to do business regarding her cancer fund? She knew the witness could get the info to Bill and Hillary.

Teflon is slick, but enough heat will severely damage it. Keep it up!

...and rather ironically, if it's really over heated, it can put off fumes that can kill...pretty apropos after all comparing the clintons and teflon it would seem.

Thanks for the tip, but I’m looking for Feb or March of 2001. The deal would have been struck very near the end of his presidency.

Let me state at the outset I believe the Marc Rich pardon was clearly a quid pro quo.

Lots of people, even democrats, said so at the time.

That being said, this was investigated by a Manhattan grand jury—the affadavit even said that one of the “informants” testified as much—and nothing came of it.

What will be different this time?

Yes, nothing came of it. But this is different. This is going to be open testimony in Senate hearings.

Let's revisit this article from 2001, shall we??

February 11, 2001 Liberties; Get Rich Quick By MAUREEN DOWD

Oh, heck, let's just impeach him again.

With Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton subverted the legal system and sullied the presidency. With Marc Rich, he perverted the legal system and may have traded a constitutional power for personal benefit.

He can't argue that our interest in this transgression is a violation of his privacy.

The Clintons ran a cash-and-carry White House. They were either hawking stuff or carting it off.

Beyond Denise Rich's $3 million fund-raising lunch and personal donations -- $450,000 to the Clinton library, more than $1 million to Democrats, $10,000 to the Clinton legal defense fund, $7,375 for Clinton furniture -- let's hope Bill Clinton has a Swiss bank account set up by Marc Rich.

Otherwise, it would not be worth sliming the Constitution, his legacy and his party.

Bill and Hill are tornadoes, as James McDougal memorably observed, twisting through people's lives and blithely moving on.

But this time, they may not dance away from the wreckage. The egg may have hit the fan, as Congressman Steven LaTourette put it at the Congressional hearing on the Rich pardon.

This time, maybe the user was used. Bill Clinton was manipulated by a man who made billions manipulating foreign markets. Marc Rich bought a pardon with the money he made betraying America.

Bob Dole once asked where the outrage was. It finally materialized in, of all places, Dan Burton's hearing room as Denise Rich sent a letter taking the Fifth. The committee examined e-mails, telephone records and letters that provided a rare road map into a chic sewer of money and influence, a far cry from the salacious bodice-ripper peddled by Kenneth Starr.

Eric Holder, former No. 2 at Justice and the latest casualty of the Clinton twister, offered lame and contradictory excuses about why he failed to rebut the argument of Jack Quinn, once Mr. Clinton's White House counsel and Monica apologist. Meanwhile, Mr. Holder was being touted as a possible attorney general in a Gore administration, where Mr. Quinn might be chief of staff.

First Mr. Holder said he did not make a fuss because he did not know who Marc Rich was. Then he said he did not make a fuss because he assumed a pardon would not be granted to a known fugitive.

At the hearing, Representative Christopher Shays scorched Mr. Quinn: ''Mr. Rich traded with Libya when we had the embargo, he traded with Iran when we had the U.S. hostages being held captive, he traded during the 12 years with Iraq when we had our conflict, he traded grain with the Soviet Union when we had an embargo, he traded with South Africa with the apartheid government when we had that embargo. . . .''

At the hearing, Democrats who had decried the virulent partisanship and wacko behavior of Dan Burton -- including his re-enactment of the Vince Foster death by setting up what he called ''a head-like thing'' in his back yard and shooting into its mouth with a .38 -- were echoing the complaints of Mr. Burton and fellow nutbag and Clinton hater Bob Barr.

Even some black Democratic lawmakers, Bill's biggest defenders, were appalled. Representative Elijah Cummings said that when he returned to Baltimore's inner city, people would ask him ''about a guy who evaded taxes . . . when they can barely afford to go to H & R Block to get theirs filled out. . . . And they are going to say, 'Mr. Cummings, how can that happen when the police are arresting us for simple things?' ''

The potent combination of Mr. Rich's money and the access of Mr. Quinn and Denise Rich to the White House was destined to be a winner. As long as they could stay ''under the press radar,'' as Mr. Quinn put it in an e-mail to another Rich lawyer.

Ms. Rich and her pal, another close friend and Clinton benefactor, former D.N.C. finance chairwoman Beth Dozoretz, pushed the pardon, sometimes monitoring events from Ms. Rich's ritzy lair in Aspen.

''POTUS,'' as one e-mail reports, phoned to buck up the girls from time to time with encouraging updates. If only those pesky White House lawyers would drop their objections, he was ready to green-light the pardon.

Ms. Rich also buttonholed Mr. Clinton at a White House reception on Dec. 20, snatching him away from Barbra Streisand for a pardon tête-à-tête.

In the world of the Clintons, people who need people are the luckiest people in the world.

The fluorides in teflon can be as detrimental to health as the fluorides in water - and the water does not have to be heated, nor do they benefit teeth.

At Least Nixon Wasn't Above the Law

by Donald A. Tevault

In the 1970's, President Richard Nixon was caught having committed crimes as President. He was later pardoned by President Gerald Ford before any indictments could be brought to bear. That's not to say that Nixon went unpunished. He was, after all, forced to resign from the presidency. But, of course, Nixon was a Republican, and Congress was run by a Democratic majority. Democrats, as we all know, play political hardball. They weren't about to let Nixon off the hook.

Now, fast forward to the 1990's. Bill Clinton also got caught having committed crimes as President. But, he didn't resign from office. He was impeached by the House, but acquitted by the Senate. The evidence against him was strong, but the Democrats raised the battle cry, "This doesn't rise to the level of impeachment!" That was the only defense they could present, since even they knew that Clinton was guilty. The Democrats played hardball, the Republicans--though in the majority--let them, and Clinton got off.

So now you're saying, "What does this matter? Why worry about water under the bridge?" The fact is that it does matter, and the country will be feeling the effects for a long time to come.

After the joke of a trial in the Senate, Clinton got the idea that he could do any thing he pleased, and would never be held accountable by anyone. He issued executive orders out the wazoo to promote his leftist agenda. Never mind that these orders were technically unconstitutional, since it's the job of Congress--not the President--to create laws. Never mind that many of these orders infringed on either states' rights or private property rights. And, never mind that the Republican majority in Congress would never have allowed most of these orders to have passed as law. It was Bill Clinton's ball game now. He had effectively been told by the Senate that he could do whatever he wanted to do, and--by golly--nobody was going to stop him.

But, some folks did labor on to try to bring Clinton to justice. Of course, the option to bring him to justice as the President was no longer viable. But, Independent Counsel Robert Ray worked to hold him accountable as a private citizen after he was to leave office. Of course, we all know how that worked out. Clinton ended up with a sweetheart deal that didn't hurt him one bit. He was to make an apology and an admission of guilt, but he turned that into a joke. He wasn't to seek government reimbursement of his legal fees. Yeah, so. He has wealthy friends to pay his legal bills. And again, Clinton was given the idea that he could do whatever he wants without ever being held accountable. So, once again, he did what he wanted. He pardoned a bunch of his cronies without first having submitted the names of the pardon candidates for review. Again, he broke the law.

And, just who were some of these folks that he pardoned? Well, there was Susan McDougal. Clearly, Clinton was rewarding her for her refusal to testify against him in the Whitewater case. Then, there was brother Roger Clinton, who had been convicted on a cocaine charge. All right, I can let that one pass, even though there is the slight hint of nepotism in the deal. The most egregious slap in the face to the American people, though, was the pardon of Marc Rich.

Marc Rich was a fugitive from justice. He was convicted of income tax evasion and for having violated the Trading with the Enemy act. He fled the country, and never served any prison time, never paid a fine. But, Clinton pardoned him anyway. What was the motivation? Well, Rich's ex-wife is a generous donor to the Democratic party. And, for all we know, there could have been more happening behind the scenes. Could there, for example, be a secret Swiss bank account in Bill Clinton's name? We'll probably never know, unless some enterprising, muck-racking journalist finds a way to investigate.

But, the Clinton crimes didn't even stop with this. Since the weekend, reports have surfaced that Clinton's White House staff blatantly vandalized and desecrated the White House before clearing out for President Bush. I'm not saying that Clinton gave any orders to do this. It's probably just that his staff has followed his example in believing that the law doesn't apply to them, and that they need have no respect for the American people.

All this, for having let William Jefferson Blythe Clinton escape justice.
