China needs to secure its sources of oil and gas, but it can’t, nobody can. Enjoy the party while it lasts. Alcohol might be the only long-term solution.

China need not worry about the stability of the Burmese dictatorship. Suu Kyi”s supporters have either left the country or are being sentenced to a uniform 65 years in prison (of which they might actually live to serve a year or so).
