Phoenix Business Journal - by Angela Gonzales
SNIPPET: “Nearing completion of a $289 million patient tower to add 154 beds by the end of next year, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is preparing to hire 800 people by 2011.
Banner Thunderbird CEO Tom Dickson said he plans to hire about 350 people through the end of 2009, which he estimates will mean $15 million in new salaries. He said he needs that many nurses and other health care providers to staff 70 new beds that are expected to be open this year.
Positions available include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists as well as nonclinical slots, he said.”
