“Looking for work? Call here”

By Doug Schorpp | Friday, February 6, 2009 6:58 PM CST

With all the talk of layoffs these days, no wonder there has been a great response to a recent story about Carleton Life Support Systems in Davenport hiring 80 people. Carleton’s parent company, Cobham Life Support Division, is a manufacturer of air separation technology for aviation applications.

I have received many calls and e-mails myself. I even got two resumes sent to me. But I am the wrong person to contact.

So, here are your choices for submitting resumes: Go to CMS.DAVapplicant@carletonls.com; write Cobham Mission Systems Division, Employment Office, 2734 Hickory Grove Road, Davenport, IA 52804-1203, or fax the human resources department at (563) 383-6106.

By the way, as of Monday, the plant will be renamed Cobham Mission Systems Division. Carleton will join all other Cobham companies worldwide by transitioning to the Cobham brand during the first quarter of 2009.

My resume has a first name ...

Speaking of hiring, Kraft Foods/Oscar Mayer’s Davenport plant will hire 20 to 30 production workers and a few mechanics and electricians. The plant produces Lunchables and Oscar Mayer meats and hot dogs.

In this instance, application information is available by contacting Iowa Workforce Development at (563) 445-3200 or going to the agency’s office at 902 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport.”
