There's a new flap involving Sarah Palin: In honor of Thanksgiving, she pardoned one turkey while other birds met their demise right behind her. Now the former VP hopeful's rep is speaking out to ET about the turkey pardon-gone-wrong!
"The [Alaska] governor did not know it was going on behind her," Palin's spokesperson tells ET of the reportedly grisly scene at Triple D Farm & Hatchery outside Wasilla. Cameras captured Palin extending the annual Thanksgiving pardon to one turkey while a farm hand slaughtered the bird's feathered friends in the background.
Palin's spokesperson tells ET the bird butchering wasn't going on when the shot was set up, and a cameraman "ignored" the governor's staff's request to remove the graphic sight once cameras were rolling.
"We're unhappy about it and the station is not happy either," Palin's rep tells ET, adding, "this was an attempt to lighten up and do something non-controversial."

If Sarah Palin didn’t know the slaughter was going on in the camera shot then maybe she needs to be more aware of her surroundings. Instead of taking interviews at home and elsewhere Gov Palin should concentrate on governing her state and boning up on foreign affairs, etc. for a run in 2012.
Knowing how the MSM works, I'd bet ET paid off the worker to make sure to slaughter the turkeys while the interview was taking place.
I don’t recall anyone in the media asking Obama to cite specific examples of Joe Biden’s regulatory or reform offerings over his 32 year career in the Senate. I seriously doubt he’d have much of an answer. Palin named McCain’s efforts re: Freddie and Fannie-—that was the most important and most relevant of his attempts to reform.
Asked and answered.
Eh, if you look at the transcript which is in my reply, Couric gave her the Freddie and Fannie answers. She was asked what beyond those instances did McCain do anything. She apparently needed to phone a friend.
Was an embarrassing interview for her supporters. I for one wish she hadn’t been so agreeable & jumped into it. But what has this to do with this ridiculous turkeypardoning (Turkeygate?)? You mean she was not smart enough, or too trusting, to see that they were going to do this ? She should never trust anyoen in the media after what they did to her last summer. Yes, she should tend to Alaska and do some serious studying, researching and reading in general. If she wants a future in US gov’t.
In honor of the ‘fairness doctrine’ (BARFF), where’s the video of Obama’s fellow Kenyan Luo tribesmen slaughtering 44 goats, and many other assorted farm animals, in his honor?!
I wonder if anyone knows more details than I do about this. I have two questions:
Is anything known about the cameraman/camera crew and what organization they represented?
I wonder if the reporters extended the questions to extend the time the harvest was going on behind her was on camera.
I also wonder if the farm owner was involved in this in anyway, or paid to set this up.
I did check Alaska newspapers on this story and couldn’t find this type of information.
Looks like a setup to me, more gotcha journalism.
The next time this is brought up, Sarah should just compare it to abortions that go on every day in this country. Interesting that the MSM never talks about what actually takes place during an abortion of a human being.
No, there isn’t. That is why she needs to be smarter about this type of stuff! Where is her publicist? Because she needs one. Geez, why do you think the President always has the Turkey come to the White House...and why do they do these stupid stunts anyway? It is lame.
Really, if she is going to have a future, she has to get some competant staff around her.
LOL! I love that one too! Cracks me up just thinking about it....thanks!
I think that brings everything into focus, doesn’t it?
Yes it is....hillarious!
