My favorite was Back Home off the Trafalgar album. That song was unlike anything the Bee Gees recorded and was edgier and harder.

Other than ushering in a new era of music he Beatles were and still are highly overrated. When it comes to pop music the Bee Gees are hard to beat. They have an incredible volume of work that expands over decades.

Nights on Broadway is an excellent song that I’d rather listen to than any Beatle’s song. I get tired of the Bee Gee’s sound after awhile, but it’s always nice to go back to it.

Regarding the video, I guess that was when they were first started to get into disco (the announcer mentioned Jive Talkin’ (who is she anyway?)). Barry’s beard isn’t grown in yet, and each of the brothers wears a different clothing style. Did Robin always cup his ear like that? And did Ike ever smack Tina around on that show?

Personally I think the Beatles were horribly overrated.

Oh well, yer entitled to your opinion :)

And Damn straight the BeeGees made and era of music with Disco. Made huge money too.

Yep.

That doesn’t make a song like “Nights on Broadway” any less than art.

Agree, its a nice song .. definitely a hit, no doubt about it.

The tempo changes and harmonies are better than ANYTHING those drugged out, egomaniacs from liverpool ever did

HAHAHAHAAAA ... OK, here is where we diverge ... when there is a BeeGeesFest every year in three major US cities which brings in 10,000+ attendees to each one, then we'll talk ...

Was that Helen Reddy? Yuck. She did the worst song ever recorded.

Yeah, so was Babe Ruth.
And Shakespeare? Gimme a break.
Wilt Chamberlain couldn't keep up on most playgrounds today.
And Muhammed Ali would get destroyed by today's fighters.

Yeah, but the Bee Gees are going to have to answer for that horrendous “Sgt Pepper” movie.

“Are you starting a joke?”

LOL. Interesting song. What do you suppose it’s about?

“I started a joke, which started the whole world crying,
But I didnt see that the joke was on me, oh no.

I started to cry, which started the whole world laughing,
Oh, if Id only seen that the joke was on me.

I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes,
And I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that Id said.

Til I finally died, which started the whole world living,
Oh, if Id only seen that the joke was on me.

I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes,
And I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that Id said.

til I finally died, which started the whole world living,
Oh, if Id only seen that the joke was one me.”

“Odessa (City on the Black Sea)”
I thought Odessa was a city in West Texas. The home of the fabled Odessa Permian H.S. Football program which was featured in “Friday Night Lights”.

I was a fan of the Bee Gees way before they were cool. The first 45 I bought by them was called ‘New York Mining Disaster 1941’. I’m pretty sure I still have it up in the attic somewhere. Personally, I preferred the pre-disco Bee Gees to the disco era, although ‘How Deep Is your Love’ is a masterpiece.

My all-time favorite is probably ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’.

No, but there are a few dark brown mud holes.
