Very good prediction - that's exactly what he tried to do.
I had read a few days earlier that there would be a powerful scene with Vic and Claudette in the interrogation room - I really thought that Claudette was going downhill fast with her lupus and was going to execute him in the room since she had nothing to lose.
I feel closure though - extraordinary episode.
The episode actually made it tough for me to sleep. I felt especially bad for Ronnie, who aside from Lem was the most loyal of all the cops. Strangely, I had nothing but contempt for Julian, Claudette, and Dutch. Yes, they played by the rules but to the exclusion of what really mattered, saving the public from the truly bad guys.
Shane's exit was predictable, as was Aceveda's ascension. All in all, the next-to-the-last episode was one of the greatest in TV history, but this . . . well, I just don't think the writers quite "caught it."
