Share Send to a Friend Print Tell Us What You Think To reach the next generation of Americans, the conservative movement needs Internet-savvy marketers and a "hip-to-be-square" attitude modeled on President Reagan and William F. Buckley, Weekly Standard blogger and Fox News contributor Mary Katharine Ham said Monday.
Speaking at a discussion about the future of the conservative movement with Young President's Club members, she argued that young conservatives have work to do to strengthen their generation's commitment to conservative ideas.
Ham said she was optimistic about the rising generation of conservative leaders, such as the Iraq War veterans who started Vets for Freedom and politicians like Governors Bobby Jindal and Sarah Palin and Representatives Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and Mike Pence. This new generation of conservative leaders can articulate the conservative message very well, she argued.
During the talk, part of Heritage's twice-annual President's Club meeting in Washington D.C., Ham also explained how a liberal overreach could be a boon for conservatives, and she called on young conservatives to use humor when debating today's issues on college campuses and elsewhere.
A conservative movement can only be effective if it doesn’t include the increasingly socialist GOP thanks to its current leaders. Those members of the GOP that truly espouse conservative principles need to distance themselves from the party if they have any hope of advancing the conservative cause.
Who’s the guy in that pic?
The guy in the picture is Rachel Maddow. Hot new babe on PMSNBC. Isn’t she lovely? </sarcasm >
A liberal overreach will be anything but funny.
“....Whos the guy in that pic?....”
Rachael Maddow of MSNBC - A propaganda arm of the democrat party.
She’ll probably dump Susan for Ellen.
I am a real fan of MKH....she’s the type of youth that we need to help us catch up with the computer savy bunch on the left.
