A Freeper's Observation; Terror In Academia (CORRECTED VERSION)

HOWDY FREEPERS!!!!!

This is the corrected version of the op-ed which I posted earlier this morning.

As I stated before in the earlier thread, I read a horrible story about a young 18 year old college freshman who was beaten up by four women at a college in Minnesota becuase she had on a McCain t-shirt. This happened at an election night get-toghether at a Minnesota liberal arts college. Thankfully she survived this savage attack.

Here is the article from which I read the story. John Hawkins wrote about it.

This incident should draw attention to the fact that there is a tremendous amount of hostility towards christians and conservatives which has not just been brought on by academia but also by the mainstream media and their atricious behavior this past election season. What's even more alarming is there are some in the law and order community choosing not only to ignore these incidents but also to go after those who are daring to speak out about Obama and his questionable actions and associations.

I know a lot of parents have kids who are in their final year of high school and getting ready to go to college. If i were one of these parents, I follow these stories very closely and think twice about whether or not maybe it would be better to send my kids to a community college or vo-tech school.

Also, depending on how law enforcement in your area feels about Obama and these kinds of things you might want to take matters into your own hands possibly defend yourselves against these kinds of attacks by the Obamabots. If our law enforcement people aren't going to do their jobs, they need to be fired and replaced with those who will.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS:
When I first read this story, I was overcome with outrage. That some in positions of authority seem to be more interested with going after Obama's political opponents than in protecting them from these attacks by the Obamabots is abosolutely and totally oturageous.

Thankfully this young woman survived the brutal attack and is going to be O.K. I would say to those in law enforcement that if you're not going to do your jobs, get out of the way and let us defends ourselves.

And to those in academia and the mainstream press, shame on you for continuing to encourage this nonsense with your inflammatory words.

Regards.....

This also reflects indirectly on the lack of ability of MN voters to make political choices. MN has also long boasted (along with her liberal neighbor to the south, IA) of having the “best” public schools in the nation.

That is true. We're paying very close attention to the Coleman-Franken race and I'm not liking what I'm seeing.

This op-ed has been bookmarked to my profile. Thanks to the ad-mons for deleting the earlier thread.

Thanks for the post. Like you this concerns me a lot. My youngest is in high school. Instead of having her scale back her expectations for success, we are teaching her how to cope in an un-christian environment. As I read the tea leaves, and the hatred you discuss is not limited to a four year term. We are teaching her skills that might be necessary throughout her life.

“This incident should draw attention to the fact that there is a tremendous amount of hostility towards christians and conservatives”

Your post is based on a logical fallacy, overgeneralization. Please avoid doing this in the future because you distract from the logical arguments supporting conservative beliefs.

For more information about fallacies, see Conservapedia. Here’s the write-up about overgeneralization:

Overgeneralization (also called hasty generalization or converse accident) is an error in reasoning which comes about by making a logical leap far greater than what the data allows. Overgeneralization follows the form:

* P is Q
* P is in R
* Therefore R is Q

For example: “I just read that three kids were arrested yesterday for drug possession. Teens in this country are really going downhill!”

Overgeneralization the central problem in trying to conclude something about a population from a non-representative sample, or about a larger group from a non-representative subset of that group.

If you're shopping for a college, I would recommend the book Choosing the Right College: 2008-2009: The Whole Truth about America's Top Schools (Intercollegiate Studies Institute, 2007). This resource describes the political and social climate as well as the academic attributes of dozens of four-year institutions across the country.

Choose your school wisely. I would suggest visiting a prospective school to find out whether or not it is suitable. For example, at my alma mater Occidental College, cultural leftism pervades the entire culture, and you will quickly find yourself ostracized if your political views are to the right of George McGovern's. When Phyllis Schlafly appeared on campus in 1981, she was shouted down and almost physically attacked, and more recenltly, Dinesh D'Souza got a similar reception.

By contrast, at Biola University, a Christian institution thirty miles away, Laura Ingraham was favorably received at an appearance last year at which hundreds lined up to buy her book. Religious faith pervades the campus, and students can often be overheard discussing biblical topics.

Bravo! make sure she knows her rights.

A friend of mine who is at a state university and belongs to Christian Intervarsity Fellowship wrote me that the resident adviser at her dorm said that Bible study in her dorm was prohibited, and that one wasn't even allowed to read a Bible in a public or common area. I responded that she not give in and recommended that she contact the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. She replied that Christian Intervarsity had its own legal department that contacted the RA's and set them straight as to the fact that this is America and that the First Amendment is still valid, and they quickly relented.

Yeah but the fact still mremains there is a lot of hostility towards christians and conservatives.

And, like it or not this perception isn't going away.

This is why I continue to recommend that parents avoid sending kids to liberal arts colleges like this one.

Academia has lots of issues with anti-conservative political bigotry and until it goes away people should stay away from these colleges and unversities and get their secondary education at a community college or a vo-tech.

“over generalization” or “hasty generalization” requires that there not be enough particulars to support the generalization. That is not the case, here. You are guilty of a straw man argument, since you are ignoring all the remainder of the data to focus on the one particular.

“you are ignoring all the remainder of the data to focus on the one particular”

What other data? The original post cites ONE incident, then draws a conclusion about a large portion of the country based on that ONCE incident.

Please tell me what other “data” I missed from the post.

Thanks everybody for your participation in this corrected thread.

As I mentioned earlier there have been occasions when those in positions of authority have chosen not only to refuse to investigate criminal actions by the Obamabots but in fact they have also chosen to go after those who dared to speak out and question their lord messiah Barack Hussien Obama's actions and associations.

As I've stated earlier this has left us with no choice but to take matters into our own hands and take the neccesary steps to defend ourselves against these criminal elements.

It is indeed a sorry state of affairs but this indeed is what has resulted from the November 4th elections.

Those in postitions of authority who continue to insist on taking the side of these Obamabots need to be dealt with. Allowing these criminal elements to get away with their actions and then going and dressing down the victims of these actions is clearly contrary to the what the rule of law is all about.

And, again I would just say to those in the law enforcement community. If you're not going to do your jobs and protect us from the Obamabots and their criminal actions then you not only need to resign and turn in your badges but you also need to get the heck out of our way and allow us to protect oursleves from these criminal elements and their actions.

There is absolutely no freaking way in the world we christians and conservatives are going to allow these Obamabots to do bodily harm to us. We are going to defend ourselves from these criminal elements and if you don't like it, screw you!!!!!!!!!

That's the way it is.
