Why Does Conservative Politics Find Gay Marriage So Deeply Threatening? (Barf Alert)
bidstrup.com ^ | 2004 | Scott Bidstrup

"Just as most older conservatives now acknowledge that they once erred in "keeping blacks in their place," they should make the same acknowledgement for gays and their right to marry, and live happy, open and contented lives in each other's arms."

"Fear that others may reject these apparently arbitrary moral boundaries, and hence question those who decreed them, and cause society to fall apart, is the reason for the conservatives' deep paranoia about the mythical "gay recruiting" and the equally mythical "gay agenda.""

We fight same sex marriage, because we recognise what it truly is. It is a way to control other people. Homosexuals, especially men, do not want monogamous relationships. That isn’t the “gay lifestyle”....They nearly stoned a Seattle doctor, a homosexual himself for even suggesting that homosexual men live monogamous lives to stem the tide of AIDS!

Homosexual marriage is not about the freedom for some to live as they want—because they are now free to do that-—but it is about forcing an ideology on people who do not want it.

Is is about the government forcing people to live AGAINST their consciences!

It is a matter of taking away the rights of the majority of people, to secure a privilege for a small minority of people, who can secure that their partnership by other means.

It is a matter of destroying the right of religions——not just Christianity by the way-—to teach morality in the way they see fit-—the right of freedom of speech, for people to speak out on issues they hold dear to their hearts-—and Parental rights-—the right to raise your children to share your own morals and values.

It is a matter of taking away the freedom of Americans to think, feel and define their own morality, and define their own communities, their own government; ON the grounds that the GOVERNMENT will now define the doctrines and precepts of religious organizations.

Homosexual marriage gives the government the right to intrude their powers in the area of anciently held and practiced religious doctrines—and to restrain these doctrines, destroys all religious liberty!

I hate to repost what I just said, but you made a great point. Why do they insist on this? Because it isn’t about civil rights. It isn’t about being discriminated against. It is about trying to force the rest of the world to think and feel the exact way they do. This is a sort of immoral inquistition, isn’t it?

I say again:

Homosexual marriage is not about the freedom for some to live as they want—because they are now free to do that-—but it is about forcing an ideology on people who do not want it.

Is is about the government forcing people to live AGAINST their consciences!

1. Gay = suicide pact.

2. Gay = bad for society.

3. The government is under no obligation to actively endorse (with marriage or civil unions) medically destructive patterns of conduct.

4. The “over there” myth of gay marriage and civil unions needs to be debunked: the movement is about using government to force everyone else to endorse and subsidize them.

5. Where gay marriage and civil unions go, ENDA (employment nondiscrimination acts) follow. Yet, people willfully following suicidal patterns of conduct is a very very very reasonable rationale for deciding not to hire them.

6. Gay marriage and gay civil unions lead to even more endorsement of their patterns of conduct in public schools, and more portrayal of them as an oppressed minority.

7. When gay men are portrayed as an oppressed minority, straight men are all the more portrayed as brutish oppressors in direct and inevitable contrast, resulting in the further implosion of Western Civilization.

I hadn’t made the legitimate link you did on the “kill and eat” thing (i.e., that those who support abortion really shouldn’t mind eating human fetuses). After all, it isn’t like they ACTUALLY ARE human, just because they’re HUMAN fetuses, right?

We eat meat from animals all the time, and all these fetuses from all these 55 million abortions is just meat going to waste. How about NOT!!!

Take a moment and consider the taxonomic system by which every living thing is rigorously categorized and classified. By that system a human embryo is of the kingdom Anamalia, of the phylum Chordata, of the class Mammalia, of the order Primate, of the family Pongidae, of the genus Homo, and of the species Sapiens - same as any other human being. Put even more simply, that embryo is a human by virtue of its parents, and a being by the fact that it is a living thing: it is a human being.

I get so morally sick of the people who say they want to keep abortion safe, legal, and rare. As if there is a fundamental right that should be rare (free speech perhaps? Liberals certainly want to keep that rare by means of their fascist ‘Fairness Doctrine’). If something is a right, we should want MORE of it, not less. It is blatant hypocrisy so depraved people can feel, well, somehow like they’re less depraved than they actually are.

And their philosophy fits well with the liberal victim-entitlement liberal mentality, that people are repressed and victimized by a malevolent moral authority who will not yield to their demands for handouts (as free care for AIDS “victims”) or sanctioned immoral lifestyle they feel they are entitled to.

Likewise they rely upon psychological tactics such as insinuating opponents are either driven by a neurological fear of homosexuals or of being one, just as not voting for Obama must mean you are racist.

I am not driven by fear of either, but by esteem for God’s holiness, and whose laws to our benefit, and breaking them is to our individual and collective hurt. A half a million Americana dead from AIDS alone is testimony to that, along with many other Costs of the War Against God. http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/RevealingStatistics.html.

If I were the president I would throw all of them out and make them live in Iran.

You are saying that if fetuses are just tissue, then (to be consistent) with millions starving, would would they refuse to support using the millions of aborted fetuses for food?

You might ask the Sen. Barbara Boxers of this country this question.

In fact, perhaps prohibitions on cannibalism (of conservative perhaps) to feed the poor can be abrogated as violation of the first amendment, if such a law was influenced by religious convictions.

(Psa 2:1-3) “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”

Yes, liberals always seem to resort to the “Emperor’s new clothes” tactic. If you don’t fall for their scheme, then you are either “unfit for your job, or a fool”! Or in modern terms, “a racist or a bigot”. When the reality is just the opposite! Just like the children’s fairy tale.

Obama and the Democrats are the fake cloth selling swindlers, and their followers are the prideful King and his court.

Apparently that makes the majority of Californians “conservative.” The neighborhood I grew up has not voted for a Republican presidential nominee since 1984. They voted for Prop. 8. I guess they are conservative.
