HOUSTON A week after the election of Barack Obama, gun buyers across the country are voting with their feet, flocking to gun stores to stock up on assault rifles, handguns and ammunition.
Some say they are worried that the incoming Obama administration will attempt to reimpose the ban on assault weapons that expired in 2004. Others fear the loss of their right to own handguns. A few say they are preparing to protect themselves in the event of a race war. ........ One expert sees a darker motive driving some post-election gun purchasers.
"Why are white people buying assault weapons?" said Ben Agger, a sociology professor at the University of Texas at Arlington who wrote a book about the Virginia Tech slayings. "I almost hate to say it, but there is a deep-seated fear of the armed black man, because Obama now commands the military and other instruments of the justice system. They are afraid Obama will exact retribution for the very deep-seated legacy of slavery."

Gee Waxman, did the irony of this asinine statement ever hit you?
"Blue eyed white Devil"...
You betcha'... Looking at a new Springfield XD 5" and a M1A NM with a 22" barrel.
No, he is just going to re-impose an assault weapons ban. All the fun toys will be unavailable or very expensive.
One, to this article I say “Duh.”
Two, looks like our militia may end up fighting O’s “ militia”.
I went to Cabelas here in Pa. last night to buy more ammunition. The prices have already started to go up. There was a huge waiting line for handgun purchases. They were handing out numbers and they were about 10 numbers behind. Every person at the gun counter was white. That’s just an observation and a fact.
Why would a Kenyan immigrant "exact retribution" over slavery?
Isn’t is against the law to incite people to riot?
The Media are guilty and PEObama is guilty.
Can we make a citizen’s arrest?
Thank you Travis McGee, Travis T O’Justice, and Clear Blue Sky. I put your quotes on my blog at http://auntiecoosa.blogspot.com
“...fear of an armed black man”
That is hilarious.
This is why the left keeps pushing gun laws. Take the black crime out of the national figures and there is no problem.
Hmmm... bet I could make a fortune with a chainsaw that fits on a picatinny rail...
Damn, where I work he'd be one racist comment PAST being fired.
A picatinny rail chain-bayonet??? REALLY kewl, but pretty much totally useless :)
About 10-15% or so of the attendees of the last gun show I visited were black. Why are black people buying assault weapons? (Surely they were just kidding when their volunteered reason was "I wanted to get one while I could, since I think Obama's going to try to ban them like Clinton and the first Bush did")
There's the black guy at the door who takes the tickets, the black guy on the floor helping to run the show, and the occasional black dealer. I wonder what their ulterior motive is in arming the white man? I wonder if anyone actually thinks that all the AR-15s and AKs being bought by the young (to me) black men were going to be handed over to some white overlord?
Or could it be that the gun culture isn't remotely the racist bastion that the hoplophobes slander, but instead is just one of many areas of American society where the only measures of a man are their manners, knowledge, and skill?

Re: hoplophobes
My word of the day.
Thanks.
We let him ramble on so other people can see where this is headed. Like Rush says, we need to keep a few token liberals around as an example for others to see. So far, he has managed to piss off even other liberals including a black lady who doesn’t care for his race war antics. She was for Obama but not because he is black, and now that more information is getting to her head about Obama’s terrorist connections she is not so happy about her vote.
Please tell me where white people can buy assault weapons. I am all over that like 7 on 8.
Sincerely, Mad
