Of course ... Algore swears that Social(ist) (in)Security is in a lockbox ...
Remember the election 2006?
Facts of Record!
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer Confidence stood at a 2 1/2 high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $ 2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%
Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006
1) Consumer Confidence plummets;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soared to over $4.10
3)Unemployment is up to over 6% [a 20% increase]
4)$2.3 TRILLION in equity [stocks and mutual funds], evaporated;
5) Americans have seen home values fall by $1.2 TRILLION.
6)1% of homes in the US are in foreclosure;
7) Food Prices are at a 30 year high;
In 2006 Americans voted for change, and they got it. In 2008 at they voted for more of the same change. They are going get ... they just have not realized that the change they voted for was leap from the pan into the fire.
At this point and time I don’t think reason is going to go over too well. Too many are getting spooked at every shadow.
There are more people who do not have 401Ks than do. Those that don’t are probably leaning on union and corporate pension funds that do not really exist [under-funded]. Those voters will be glad to vote for the collectivist. Remember there are 220 million eligible voters in this country, 88 million do not pay taxes [and probably do not have 401Ks]. Add in the 20-25 million illegals [grant citizenship] and you have 120 million voters who would not kick the dems out for seizing control of 401Ks.
No, they can make it retroactive to the beginning of the current tax year
It is really sad when one has to slap panicking Freepers across the face and scream at them to "think." One has some sympathy for Patton's point of view.
