As Texas Tech took another step toward its first Big 12 South Division title, and a possible berth in the BCS National Championship Game, the Red Raiders appeared to be their only opposition against No. 9 Oklahoma State.
After No. 1 Alabama struggled in a 27-21 overtime win at No. 16 LSU, and No. 3 Penn State lost at Iowa, the No. 2 Red Raiders built a 21-point lead Saturday night in methodical fashion.
Tech scored touchdowns on five of its first six possessions - the only time the Red Raiders didn't score was off a turnover - in a 56-20 victory in front of 55,663, the third-largest home crowd, at Jones AT&T Stadium.

They really are an impressive team. It would be great to see them in the championship game.

Way to go, Tech!
Proud parent of a Tech grad here!

Their QB is probably the best on the field this year.

Heck, Tech’s offense would dominate the Dallas Cowboys. (though that’s not really saying much)

And, rightfully so! I love watching Tech play this year. Truly an exciting football team.

Yep, expecting a great game between Texas Tech and Florida.

I bet we see Graham Harrell and Mike Crabtree playing on Sunday NFL in a year or so.

Let's do the math here: #2 team in the nation, coming off huge win over #1 team in the nation, spanks the #9 team in the nation like a red-headed step child. Meanwhile, the #1 team in the nation needs OT to squeak by the #16 team in the nation (granted on the road but overtime against that team?). That should equal a #1 slot to Tech and the greatness of Mike Leech.
Should, but probably won't. No respect.

TT looked like last year’s New England Patriots last night. Threw to whoever they wanted, and then ran the ball when they got bored with throwing it.

AP and USA both have Tech as #2 - that’s fine with us - our Red Raiders just keep “doing their job” as the coaches like to say.

Thank you very much. It would be nice for someone other than UT or OU to have a shot!

Speaking of Big 12 - wow, Baylor is on a comeback! Nice to see new coaches sparking the teams. Nebraska is showing strength, and the Aggies will come back strong too - unfortunately for Tech! We have few weak teams in the Big 12 anymore.
