Assuming you’re not trolling:

“I saw this thing on here about Obama’s “national defense force” and some posters commenting about the coming civil war or some such. I’m pretty sure Obama was just talking about funding for police.”

Obama is a well spoken man who chooses words carefully, Funding police officers is *not* a “national” defense force. He means something different perhaps a national police department but that is *exactly* what we are afraid of.

“First of all there’s no money for it, nobody would go for it, and he’d be laughed out of the White House.”

Yes if he use the words ‘brown coats’ (nice firefly reference) but he wont. If he institutes a national police force it will be under the auspices of the FBI or some other well sounding banner.

“He’s also not a socialist.”

He is a pragmatic socialist, he wants more federal funding for education, law enforcement, health care, and several other keys areas. He wants to get us to socialism but he knows its a pill Americans wont swallow whole so well get it in little bits.

“And he’s not coming for your guns”

He wants to renew the AWB, he believes in restrictions to the second amendment and I, who have never owned a gun in my life, am planning on buying one because I dont know if I will be able to do so in ten years.

“And Obama ran on uniting the country, on being bipartisan”

So did Bush (in 2000) how do you think that worked out? McCain had a history of Bipartisan work in the senate BO served 2 years (he spent 2007/8 running for office) and in that time he was one of the most liberal and party line senators in the entire congress.

“It’s how he won 60% of independent and brought home so many of the Clinton voters.”

He got ‘clinton voters’ because he ran against Bush, *I* could have won on the democratic ticket this time around. He also convinced people he was going to pay their mortgages and make sure they could fill their gas tank.

“I believe global warming is a serious problem, but I also think Al Gore enjoys it WAY too much. “

Do you think man is responsible? Based on what? bear in mind the past two years has wiped out most of the mean global temperature increases for the past 30.
