When pulled over the first words out of your mouth should be you have a permit and wait for instructions from the officer. In my class, I was taught to always give the officer both my permit and drivers license.

In my class, I was taught to always give the officer both my permit and drivers license. I am not disagreeing with your training , but my personal preference is to tell the officer before I make any movement . I turn my dome light on before the officer gets to the car and I keep my hands on the wheel until he asks me to do something . Yes I get pulled over often , I don't drive like an idiot , but I have business interests with calls at 2 or 3 in the morning . They get curious , it is their job .

No need in my State. CWP records are linked to DMV here. They immediately know the instant they run your plates whether or not you've been issued a CWP. They'll be fully prepared before they walk up on you. When the officer appears at your window, he'll ask "are you armed?" If yes, he'll ask where it is, and ask you to keep your hands away from it.

In my class, I was taught to always give the officer both my permit and drivers license.I've done just that & the (PA State) trooper looked at me like I'd just grown a second head. Didn't even thank me. Apparently they already know (DMV records) and it just isn't necessary.
